That's right, folks, we're back at it again! This time, we're hosting an American Hunger Games! And on the same day that the Epstein files are supposed to get released! A suspicious mind might even say that this is all a ruse to draw your attention away from them. So, folks, let's all dust off those tinfoil hats and laugh at America!

More news: THE EPSTEIN FILES HAVE BEEN FUCKING DELAYED/STOPPED!!!

Source: IT'S ALREADY HITTING THE NEWS, BUT HERE'S ONE EXAMPLE.
TL;DR
Trump says we apparently captured not just the Venezuelan president and his wife, but we're also going to run the country now. Guess we're putting that Monroe Doctrine in effect.
To spread democracy of course. The oil there is just a nice bonus.
I'd like to posit that in last year's election thread, Avery made a hopeful comment about the Second Amendment being exercised against a public figure and Will, who is a mod, responding positively. I apologize if I caused you any inconvenience, and I can understand the caution due to recent events. Just wanted to state that there was precedent, and I hadn't been made aware of any policy changes.
EDIT: the comment in question was recently deleted. So yes, this is a new thing. Understood.
Congrats to all you 'Mericans for just straight up stealing an entire fucking country. All we've got is a prince who turned out to be a massive nonce and he's not even a prince anymore. Damn, being British is boring.
You guys stole like half the planet during your heyday, let someone else take a turn
Very true. And to add insult to injury, we also stole all those country's best shit and stuck it in the "British Museum"... Never even gave it back. ^_^
And some things that are "seemingly" non-portable.
Like a A forced color revolution.
Wait there was an actual orange revolution?
Oh! It was just such a silly unique name that I was confused. Sorry.
EDIT: Wait why does it say color instead of orange now?
Well, they arrested Maduro to pave the way for a smooth color revolution—which, of course, can hardly be called a "revolution" or "color."
I was going to post about Venezuela, but it seems someone else beat me to it. There aren't enough posts here to explain the seemingly endless number of notifications I got for this thread though. Do I want to know what happened here?
I don't know, but I think it was this thread that Ben posted at least one thing that got deleted.
Yeah, that's about all I could gather from reading the posts as well. It makes sense that it was Ben, but I'm slightly curious as to what he did
Edit: It might have also been Celicni
Hey look, I found something to add to this: "The United States recognizes only two sexes – male and female – as immutable and grounded in biological reality" (HB 805)
And:
"No State funds may be used, directly or indirectly, for the performance of or in furtherance of surgical gender transition procedures, or to provide puberty-blocking drugs or cross-sex hormones to any prisoner incarcerated in the State prison system or the Statewide Misdemeanor Confinement Program or otherwise in the custody of the Department of Adult Correction, or to support the administration of any governmental health plan or government-offered insurance policy offering surgical gender transition procedures, puberty-blocking drugs, or cross-sex hormones to any prisoner incarcerated in the State prison system or the Statewide Misdemeanor Confinement Program or otherwise in the custody of the Department of Adult Correction."
TL;DR: Another US state has now officially said fuck you to trans people
Oh, and they are trying to ban phones in school (again).
The world is healing.
In some ways, yes, but if you think that this is a sign that the world is healing, then I am sorry to inform you that this is a sign the world is, as the title indicates, going insane.
(pushing down italics because you can never be too careful with the formatting bug)
(For clarity: "this" refers to the bill that amounts to: fuck trans people, but here's some stuff to prevent sexual harassment so we can pass it easier. (Don't get me wrong, it's great that they are doing those things, but I personally believe that the main reason it was put in there was to make it slightly easier to pass the bill, (despite the fact that most of the people in charge of that process sadly also agree with the statment fuck trans people.), and it's not like we didn't already have most of it already. If not in writing, then at least in principle.) )
Side thought here, but what if I started sharing good/hopeful news as well? It would certainly be a welcome change of pace.
Yes please.
Well, I've found a YouTube channel that is all about good news, and they list their sources, so they're going to be my main source for a while. Of course, they don't post that often, so the news will be a tad old, lol. I'll post some things I find from them soon, but here's a link to their channel if you want to check them out yourself.
Oo, cool! :D
Well I imagine according to some folks your last post was already good news (Including or hell even especially the "fuck the T folk" part). It's really going to depend on the ideology of the person.
Hell, even if you posted Israel getting nuked, you're not even going to get the same reason for folks to be glad about it.
Like some would be all for it due to believing Israel had it coming for all the war crimes against the Palestinians. While someone else would just be glad about it not because they give a shit about the sand dwellers but because it sure killed a lot of Jews. (Okay, we all know that last one would be Cel)
It's a pity both sides can't lose.
Yes, that's a good point. The whole trans stuff has always mainly been a distraction.
This is the same old playbook: They find the smallest most disrepected group and pretend to be heroes for beating them down. Then you find the next group and repeat the process. The point is that is repeated till everybody lives in fear. Then everybody needs to stay in line because everybody has some characteristic that could would be found unacceptable if anybody looked at you to closely.
Under the Nazis 1.0 every single person lived in fear. That's how they managed to dictate everybodies life to smallest detail.
Forgiving loans for couples with children sure sounds like living in fear to me, you are correct.
Oh here's some good news.
Gas prices went down. Well at least they have around me.
Funny how that happened.
It's not just you. The prices are generally down around me as well.
For some reason the title of this thread makes me think of the somewhat lesser known "hardcore" horror movie Murder Set Pieces
It's mainly about a serial killer, a particularly nasty one. He basically goes around charming the ladies with his Chadly looks and photography job, or picking up hookers only to brutally rape and torture the shit out of them before killing them. And at least in one instance he's chewing a piece of one of their chopped up torsos naked in a corner like an animal and it's hilarious how he's making these growling and grunting noises while doing it. It's like you're just a plain old human, not a fucking werewolf.
The thing is though he comes off as an awkward weirdo even without knowing about the rest of his activities. Like I get they might've been going for a Patrick Bateman style serial killer where his status and looks are just attracting women, but this dude was a way shittier actor so it just seemed like these ladies were retarded to go along with him to wherever. (The horror movie survival instinct so we'll let it pass, plus I suppose the hookers were in need of money so I guess that checks too)
Then there was this whole thing where his grandfather was a Nazi. I mean like an SS death camp dude which seemed a bit over the top on trying to villainize the guy. Like he's already raping, torturing, murdering and even eating women. Did we really need the Nazi tie too? Hell even his granddad probably wasn't eating Jews. He later also visits some regular old fat white supremacist dude (Played by the dude who played the original Leatherface) who's pimping out his teenage daughter to buy something (Not his daughter though. I think it was a gun. Been awhile since I saw the movie so I can't remember). I dunno maybe there was a message there or something about Nazis being bad in between all the rape and torture.
The movie is sort of all over the place anyway. At one point he murders a bunch of people in a video store getting robbed (Only decent part of that scene is Tony Todd being the video store clerk) and he also kills a little girl for some reason near the end. No he doesn't do anything to sexual to her. Just a simple multiple knife stabbing to her chest. It sort of doesn't make sense since he's killing all these women because he considers them whores which is pretty standard serial killer shit. But he targets this little girl because he suddenly changes his MO to "Snuffing out purity and innocence"
I mean yeah Ted Bundy's last victim didn't quite match his raping/killing rampage either as she was far younger than what he was targeting, so maybe the director was trying to emulate that, but Ted also assaulted that poor girl too, so didn't really match what the director was doing with the protagonist in the movie.
Anyway the movie's protagonist's murder-rape rampage comes to an end when he's trying to kill some other young girl. (I think she was barely a teen) and she escape and reports him and he changes his identity and heads off on a bus somewhere already charming some other whore in the seat next to him. The End
What was my point, oh so there's a part way earlier in the movie, like maybe 10 minutes in where the protagonist is going into his nihilistic bad thoughts saying "The world has gone to shit." Something like that anyway and it reminded me of the thread title. This bit was accompanied by the actual footage of 9/11 complete with the planes going into the towers. The director got a lot of flack for it since it wasn't long after that happened, but also it just seemed like throwing it in was an extra Edgelord thing to do when the movie was already being Edgelord material.
But the director was getting flack anyway, not just because he made torture porn (because hey there's still an audience for that) but also because he was making multiple accounts on the IMDB shilling his film like an annoying faggot and posting on the forums (Remember when IMDB had forums?) about how great the movie was and how anyone who didn't like it were just a bunch of haters.
Anyway, I had the director's cut which showed just about all the gruesome shit and really that's all the movie fucking had is shock value and granted I'm all for shock value, but this just wasn't doing it mainly because the serial killer protagonist was ultimately sort of just dull and badly acted.
Watched it once, don't have the movie anymore and nothing of value was lost.
EDIT: Oh, the serial killer was a German immigrant. I forgot about that part. That explains the Nazi tie a little better and why he acted like an awkward retard!
Anyway still nothing of value was lost. Carry on.
Oh fucking hell, really? At this point we might as well just declare open war on a minority group and state our intentions to take over all of Brazil; It won't worsen our reputation anymore then what we've already done.
You lack imagination.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. But why in the world are we going for Greenland, of all places?
Here are some reasons:
Those are good reasons, but I still don't think we should go to war with Greenland because of them. We should really just focus on improving our political relationships with everyone else and stay out of war unless necessary. Assuming that Greenland doesn't choose Russia's side, then we could probably convince them to help us if we have a good enough relationship. Then we would get almost all the benefits, and maybe even a few more.
Well, at least he hasn't completely corrupted all of congress. If he did, then I guess WW3 would have started already.
You mean war with Denmark. Greenland belongs to Denmark. They are already helping you hugely. Denmark made significant changes to its constitution to allow an American presence there for strategic defence.
No Greenland won't choose Russia's side. They want to stay Danish. Also the EU wouldn't go to war with the US over Greenland. Though it would be an Article-5 case, which would end NATO. In that case it is at least a Scenario that the EU would form an alliance with China. Which means China would amlost immediately invate Taiwan. This is basically the thing that is on the horizon: Gain Greenland lose Taiwan in turn. It is a *very* bad deal for the US in economic terms and would result in a new cold (or hot) war.
Other options could be seizing US assets, which is the economic equivalent of nuclear war and would be very bad for all of us.
I think the "mask" came off a long time ago.
The leftists actually being pro-Maduro is insane to me, the guy’s approval rating in the country has constistently stayed below 30% since 2014. And while the american move was an obvious overreach with ulterior motives it was a geopolitically sound move, removing a major regional opponent and gaining leverage in post-Maduro Venezuela with all the benefits (oil mostly). People should be more pragmatic, personally if i imagine myself in an american’s shoes i much prefer a hands-on pragmatic approach to foreign policy than the wilsonianism that has been used to hide real foreign affairs intentions and objectives for the past decades.
On another note petrol prices are down here too so that's good. Moreover the asiatic lion (an endangered species) population in india has grown by over 30% in the past 4 years.
This colonialism thing has been going on since forever, and there is not much we can do to stop it.
My argument isn’t that ‘might makes right’ or that self-governance doesn’t matter. It’s that the Wilsonian tradition of dressing up strategic moves in moral language is more corrosive to democratic values than straightforward realism would be. When the U.S. invokes human rights selectively like intervening in Venezuela but not Saudi Arabia,it makes a mockery of those principles. I’d rather we acknowledge geopolitical interests openly, which at least allows for honest debate about whether specific interventions are worth it and gives us clear objectives (e.g. Look at Afghanistan).
The ISS is apparently having a medical evacuation for the first time. I'm trying to find more sources right now, and will update soon.
Some articles I found on it after a quick search:
TL;DR:
One of the astronauts aboard the ISS has developed an unspecified medical condition that was serious enough to warrant their returning to earth for treatment, and this is the first time it has happened ever, so it's gaining a lot of attention.
yay.
They should have released all of them almost completely uncensored over a month ago, but I'll take what I can get at this point.
Yep. I'd bet that one of the next distractions they try to use will be the "patriot games." It's been a while since we've heard it mentioned.
Why? I can tell you guys aren't being serious. ...I think.
Well then I must be too dumb to understand because I feel fine :/
Remember 2016 when everyone laughed at pizzagate? Those silly conspiracy theorists and their conspiracies.
Ah, yes, pizza gate. The true conformity gate theory!
The US left the World Health Organization about a week ago; I guess we learned nothing from COVID.
Already knew that from class. We're assigned every week to find a piece of news to tell the class on Monday, and this week we were supposed to bring happy news. ...Less than half the class managed to follow that requirement.
What?
0.0
That's kinda concerning
*Shrugs*
Time since last government shutdown: 81 0 days.
It shut down again?
Just a little bit!
Yep.
Because it isn't currently dark where I'm at? Idk what to say. I think you can set it to automatically switch when it gets dark, or, if you really want to, you can manually force it to stay on.
And you know what's even crazier? The fact that America already has tons of issues with CSAM, yet we all go bonkers when we see the Epstein files, along with the alleged idiots that were in it, Trump, Hillary, Clinton. I am not protecting them in ANY way at ALL, but if we are really concerned about the kids in this society and whether or not they should be allowed to talk to strangers, go on a walk themselves, etc etc, then we should probably start looking at all the details. I have an entire fucking LIST of sites I know of (not because I go on them, I have a job in law) that produce and host CSAM, up-front or not. But the government won't deal with those, and I can't either until they get their heads out of their asses and start rubbing two stones together up in that retarded mind of theirs. "Them" being the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the CIA, literally ANY branch of government.
Anyway, rant is over. America is shit.
The last nuclear arms treaty expired a few days ago. Let's hope that doesn't mean anything in the future.
Oh dear...
And now you can buy a us citizenship. I'm sure this won't have any negative effects whatsoever.
The epstein files alone are proof of that. The worst part about these "golden cards," as they're called, is that the money you spend is considered a "gift" and not a fee. Just makes you wonder if there could be a specific word that might be used to refer to someone giving money as a gift to an influential person in order to do something otherwise illegal. Shame we don't have one.
AI discovered new physics. yay.
(Yes, I know it's technically called "machine learning," but that's essentially all that AI is.)
We teamed with Israel and bombed Iran's capital, including killing several military personnel and hit the offices of their head of state.
We used the threat of "oh no they might have nukes" that we pulled on Saddam Hussein, and violated a 2015 peace agreement. Which means that other Middle Eastern countries we have made progress with are now likely to hate and mistrust us. And Trump released a video also encouraging Iranians to engage in insurrection, since it's been about five years since he did that.
We just had to drop the Epstein files, didn't we?

By the way @MissileSender I have a couple of questions.
1) Are you alright?
2) Are you starting to regret your choice of username?
Oh hey look, the leaders of the free world. The ones that stand for democracy.
Surely even the dumbest american should by now realize you're the villains.
No, unfortunately there's still a lot of idiots who think we're going to summon a big ol' bastion of freedom and liberty.
Never mind the fact that we fought a war in Afghanistan, and now the government is the Taliban, who hates us. Or that we fought a war in Iraq, whose government is run by the Coordination Framework, which is aligned with Iran and therefore hates us. No, no. This time will be totally different since... well I dunno. Supreme Leader Trump hasn't explained that part to us yet, but it'll totally work out since the DOW is at 50,000.
But, instead of condemning the US and Israel, Saudi Arabia said this:
The Kingdom strongly condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the brutal Iranian aggression and the blatant violation of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Kingdom reaffirms its full solidarity and unwavering support for these fraternal countries, as well as its readiness to provide them with all its capabilities to support any measures they may take to defend their security and stability. The Kingdom also warns of the serious consequences that may arise from the continued violation of state sovereignty and the principles of international law, and calls on the international community to take decisive measures to counter Iranian violations.

I'm not calling them two-faced at all, but they have a delicate tightrope to walk between rhetoric and reality. These are the nations who shot down drones and missiles fired towards Israel, all while also condemning Israel. I'm not by any stretch an expert, but as I understand it the Middle East is very complex in terms of these relationships. Above all else, some of the nations we allied with do not like Iran. Do they support this preemptive attack? I would say probably not, on the grounds that it puts them at risk (Iran has already fired missiles at them beacuse of US bases and possibly opening their airspace for the US and Israel), and is potentially could be very destabilizing. But will they complain if the Iranian regime is successfully replaced? Highly doubtful, as I understand it.
But on the other hand, the power vacuum could be just as dangerous or even more so to their grand 2030/2031 plans for this new Middle East. So I find it highly unlikely they would support this preemptive military action. But if it ends with a new, less hostile regime in Iran, my guess is they'd be pretty happy about it.
As for Trump's motivation, maybe this is how he becomes the Führer. By starting WWIII, maybe he can become President for Life. I don't know. But I honestly do not think our major Middle East allies are going to hate us UNLESS they start piling up losses because of this action (UAE already had a civilian killed from fallout from shooting down a rocket, it seems). If Trump's little regime change plan actually works (lol—watch ISIS take over), they'd probably be pretty happy.
Saudi Arabia and Iran have disliked each other for decades. If we go to war, I predict that Iran will at some point attempt to destabilize Saudi Arabia due to being a huge supplier of American oil (although I doubt they'll launch an actual invasion and have to fight a war on two fronts, that was a huge factor in how the losing side got their ass kicked in the last World War).
To be honest, I believe that Trump knows he can't officially declare war on Iran without Congressional approval, so he's trying to goad Iran into declaring war on us. All I can say is that staying out of foreign conflict was a huge campaign promise of his, and that pulling out of the Middle East (along with blaming Obama for why we were in the Middle East despite Bush being the one who declared military intervention) was something both sides wanted. We just ended our last war four years ago after twenty years of conflict. A majority on both sides, Republicans and Democrats, have been shown to oppose military intervention against Iran. Enough is enough already.
Shit.
Possible, but I don't think so. Iran does not have the capability to touch the U.S. mainland, and we're unlikely to stay in this fight once Trump leaves office. We did withdraw from Iraq when Obama took office, and from Afghanistan with Biden. I will say I very much preferred Obama's method of slowly pulling out troops far better than Biden's policy of "Get out now! Leave the blackhawks and M16s!" I mean, we had a deadline of May 2021 to be out of there thanks to an agreement we signed in 2020, and we hung around past our expiration date until the Afghani government collapsed and the Taliban closed in.
Considering there's quite a few Republicans who are not happy about us re-entering the Middle East?
Now obviously, his diehard supporters are never gonna stop cheering for whatever he does. This man could openly admit to raping and eating babies and his cult would be like "he's just playing the Democrats to show everyone how demented they are! See how they're all yelling and calling for his arrest? Shameful!"
But a lot of moderate Republicans (read: Republicans who genuinely care about American values, Christian values, and the Constitution and realize Trump is the polar opposite of the first two and brazenly violates the Bill of Rights without even trying to justify it convincingly), gun owners like myself who have noticed that despite Trump's claims of supporting the Second Amendment, he has repeatedly made anti-2A statements and supported legislation that restricts our rights (bump stock bans), and quite a few military personnel and their families who just saw the end of an extended conflict. These types of people and others are likely to either vote for someone else or simply stay home come midterms, while a lot of Democrats and people who just want to see Trump reined in are going to show up in droves.
I would like the economy to be somewhat stable when I graduate in a few years not looking great so far.
And now the US military is intergrating chat gpt into itself. yay...
So quick question about that: AI works by reading information and then forming responses based off that info, right? So if someone in our government was foolish enough to input classified or sensitive data into ChatGPT, could it end up dispersing classified information across the public domain?
I think they're only using it for unclassified things, but there is still a chance it happens. Then again, AI does lie a lot, so they could probably just say that "iT's HALluCinAtiNg!"
Considering the incompetence of our government and how they lie about everything, I don't think anyone would believe them if they did.
Remember, the idiots in our presidential cabinet used Signal, a app endorsed by Edward Snowden, to discuss top secret military plans that were later leaked when our APNSA, the guy whose job it is to advise the president on all matters pertaining to national security, accidentally added two members of the press to the group chat.
It seems the U.S. has also had jets shot down by our own allies in a friendly fire attack.
"Friendly fire."
I wouldn't be too surprised if it wasn't an accident. Though I wouldn't be too surprised if it really was one as well.
Yeah. The entire place is burning to the ground, and they're trying to extinguish the flames with gasoline.
That would depend on the AI in question. I doubt very many fit the criteria of both "publicly available" as well as "takes data from user input".
You could fill ChatGPT with terabytes of tranny porn, it's not gonna think it's any more common or normal, because it doesn't get fed data by every user that talks to it. It's curated data from the company.
Fair enough. I despise AI for encouraging laziness, impacting hiring processes that delayed my ability to work (seriously, my old job at FedEx, I was delayed from working for three weeks after I was hired due to the AI they set up to handle submitting employee data into the system having issues with rehires, and a few others had the same issue), causing a widespread increase in misinformation, allowing actual criminals and assholes caught on camera or recorded doing things they shouldn't to claim AI deepfakes and people actually believe them, ect.
I genuinely think that one day we will get to the point where video evidence will be insubmissable in a court of law due to the inability to tell the difference between a faked video and a real video. Even if we ensure there's always some way to verify the authenticity, that would still take time and effort, slowing down the court process enough.
Because of these things, I really haven't looked too much into how AI actually works. It's the beginning of the end of civilization and human ingenuity.
Yep, and some people are even saying that those who point out how AI could spell doom for all of humanity are working for the AI companies somehow. We're already screwed.
