Player Comments on Homo Perfectus 2

This game is just as good as the first one, except for one minor "glitch" I found. Really interesting and unique gameplay, trying to find the optimal way of completing some of the fights was once again a lot of fun. This game had an improvement to the writing (although it still wasn't perfect), and a lot more character development. This may just be because of the path I took, but I think I used every ability at least once during my playthrough, which is nice because in the last game I didn't use a couple of them whatsoever. The one issue/glitch I found is there's one page during the final fight that leads to a dead end where you can't do anything except go back past a certain point and then use a different ability. I was stuck on that section for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do, and after using every ability in desperation realized I could only go back.

Spoilers: In this game I decided to actually go for the "super heroic" ending after getting to the normal "heroic" ending, and it was definitely harder, but also more satisfying (as it should be). Overall this path was enjoyable, but the final fight with Damage was kind of repetitive. Whereas most of the story and fights are a kind of puzzle where you're trying to figure out the best course of action, this last fight had a lot of scenarios where you're just using strength, even though I actually had ideas on how I could've used the other abilities. While no storygame can have a truly immersive fighting system, the last fight felt especially weird. A weird plot point is that you just kind of become a superhero in the super heroic ending, which fits the whole "super heroic" thing, but also makes no sense. Otherwise I did enjoy this installment a good bit, it was especially great to actually have more interactions with Eve, who didn't get much time in the previous game.

As the second installment in the Homo Perfectus series, I'm happy to say that this was a decent sequel to Homo Perfectus, but I am a bit disappointed in some things about it. I like how more background information was provided and some time passed before the next conflict Adam will have to face. It was much more difficult and I like how more abilities were introduced but I have yet to use all of the abilities in the game.

Unlike Homo Perfectus, the writing is a bit choppy and I feel like it has dropped in quality from the first one. Fighting scenes felt short and uneventful, which also was disappointing. I think that more time and effort should have been put into this because I think that with more attention to specifics, this could even top Homo Perfectus.

The plot was basic and sadly wasn't as structured as I thought it would be. I liked how each scene was introduced though so that was satisfying to read and improved my overall opinion of the storygame. I understand that the advanced editor can be difficult to work with and to understand, so congratulations on successfully using to create storygames like this. The health was a bit broken though, so I was at -5 before I died, rather than at the traditional death mark: 0.

Descriptive writing is still a problem in this (sadly) and I wish that the author would include more because much of it is very repetitive and irrelevant to the situation itself, and as stated before, a storygame like this requires more descriptions than the average story.

Character introductions was improved from Homo Perfectus, so I'm very happy about that. I like how a side story was made for Damage so that his character can be developed and more understood by the readers. Adam has evidently grown a lot and I like how we have the choice to affect this and his actions.

I can't say much about the practicality of your solutions, as this is a superhero story, but the conflicts are generally realistic and are inserted at a good pace that complements the plot line nicely.


I was disappointed that we couldn't use some of the abilities in certain situations, and I could see ways for them to be used so that we can have a good variety of choices and endings for the story.

Spelling and grammar was even worse than in the first one, and I hate to say but the author’s lack of sufficient knowledge of the English language take s a bit away from the story in this one, which isn't a good sign. I think more proofreading is neccessary and shouldn't be done with more caution and care for detail.

Good story, I like how it kept the same mechanics as last time, but there are a few things I noticed that weren't as good as the first.

While neither story had much detail, this has even less and seems to progress too quickly without the details to support it. I also noticed more grammatical errors and misspells than the first. Also, the pictures were a nice addition, except for the fact the Eve had 2 pictures of 2 different people, although it did capture a fitting expression.

Still, no less entertaining than the first and I enjoyed it, I greatly look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Not bad, not bad at all. I'm a huge fan of the series so, when revisiting them, I was stoked to replay this one in particular. The unique take on a superhero storygame gives it a fresh playstyle, allowing the reader more flexibility with their path.

Got the herioc ending! A worthy game full of suspense, powers, fights and a good plot! I totally recommend it including all the other games in this troilogy.

I really enjoyed this game, but was annoyed that I wasn't able to increase reflexes to dodge bullets (the game even tells me that "i wasn't able to avoid the attack without increased reflexes".

I feel as if this story could have been better if you hadn't made older Adam seem not so corrupt.

This one was also challenging, but I got the heroic ending after trying a few times. There were a few misspelled words, but not many. It is a great story. I enjoyed it very much, thanks for sharing.

Really good. the only thing was a few typos and one time there were no links and it made me take damage to continue, but other than that is was really good.

I like the story but I'm disappointed on how the author limits your options. what's the point of being able to use powers if you're not allowed to use them. if it doesn't work in the situation a simple "nothing happen" would suffice.

A popcorn and break time read which doesn't fall on its face, but also never truly excites. The same criticism that applies to the first installment applies even more so here. Dialog and characters conveniently go whatever way drives the story on, regardless of logic or circumstance. While a fun and interesting mechanic, the powers system has the same flaws as before: namely that they could use better scripting. You still face a bevy of situations where you could either use multiple powers to solve a problem but are only allowed one, or have to guess at "the right" power. As a notable example- after cracking off Damages helmet, you cannot throw the bone knife at his exposed head, when it's description even states it is a perfect throwing weapon. When in the closet, you cannot use super sight, hearing, or smell to detect the waiting assailant either, despite it being established cannon that you can hear a heart beat with your powers. Another powers related issue: you can skip adding powers to your inventory at the prologue. If you do this or don't realize what is required to add powers you can still make it a bit into the story before dying and not realizing why. Sequels are hard work. Without the "getting to know you" or mystery of the original, some of the novelty is gone. It would have been nice to either get a new power, or find new uses for the existing powers that would bring something interesting to the mix. There are some minor mistakes in the writing, instances of awkward exposition and dialog (such as needing to tell eve to use her super hearing instead of eve simply being aware she has super hearing on her own,) and while they detract some from the experience it is still a solid work. Overall this game was a good time, as sequels often are it lacked the creativity of the original, and it didn't feel like as much imagination went into it. I still give it a 6/8 because I w joyed part one, and part 2 was not a bad read, just not quite up to where I would like the series to be. On its own merits I would likely rate it 1-3 points lower, but if you enjoyed the first game you'll likely enjoy this one, as long as you aren't expecting anything new from the series.

This story was even better than the first one. I liked how the reader was given the chance to follow both Adam and Damage's stories/paths and see how they eventually meet each other. The plot was hooking and managed to keep my attention, and I liked the numerous fight scenes that popped up throughout the game. The writing was alright - the scenes were definitely more detailed, but some of them sounded as if the facts were merely being stated, such as the beginning one when the couple discovers Damage. It would've been better if dialogue was included, but it didn't really ruin the story. The characters had more personality in this game than the last one, and it was fun to learn more about them.

Overall, this game was enjoyable and more improved than the last one. It had the right amount of action and pacing, and I liked how the story gradually built up towards the climax. The fight scenes were sometimes hard to navigate through, and it took a few tries before I could finally defeat Damage without killing myself. Otherwise, it was fun to play and definitely a good way to spend time.

Some minor gramatical errors, but all around, another great story! Off to the third game for me!

This series gets better and better! Fantastic work, I really can't fault this story.

Though a couple of bugs and grammar mistakes, this game has improved since the last one. Unlike the previous one, there is more than one, fully detailed ending.

What I liked about HP2 was that it used items a new way, with genetics. Can have suspense and I liked the 'elsewhere' parts, which are a great addition to the Homo Perfectus series.

But there were a couple of errors, like I previously mentioned, that are there, for example, when Adam checked his email, he looked up from the newspaper.

However, the great story and plot overrides the bugs and still is definitely worth an eight.

I recommend this story/series for anyone who wants a nice, new read.

Great storyline...but, my god, that fight was stupidly hard and tedious... Using the "increased mental capacity" for hints might work better if you used it for hints more often... most of the time I was just spamming the three "fight" moves and pressing the back button, when they failed.

The fight with Damage was so hard! I couldnt get past it and i have no idea what i did diffrently the 2ed time but i beat him. Its like you make one part where i always get stuck in each Homo Perfectus game but it makes it so much better when you finally beat that part!

Weird, I remember your writing style from the original Homo Perfectus being a bit different. Can't complain though, still a good story. Think I liked the original a little better, but not a bad sequel, definitely worth playing. Only downside is that when it came to the fight scenes, I think the game used the increased strength far too much and the other powers not enough. I don't think I ever found a part of the game where you could use your increased sense of smell power.

This series is just getting better and better. The plot is gripping, the spelling(For a game so long) is great, and I just love playing as Adam. You use items and variables really well and there is a ton of effort in this story.

The only problem I have is that I wish you had more fighting actions so that I'm not just using speed, reflexes, and strength all the time.

My favorite part was fighting damage. That guy would not just go down.

Good game. Fun to play. The use of items is really cool. I'm kind of upset I didn't have a chance at beating Damage, I wanted an opportunity to avenge Mark's death and redeem myself from the darkside! ;( - oh well - now on to part 3...

The story is interesting, but there are some really frustrating parts where it seems like I should be able to use an ability, and I can't. Near the end, for instance, Damage formed some axes. I tried to increase my reflexes, but it said I couldn't use that, so I increased my speed. This resulted in me dying, and the narration said it was because my reflexes weren't increased, which is exactly what I had tried to do.

It seems as if you only want me to win the fight in one specific way, and any other method will result in death, even if I have rather high health up to that point.

Speaking of which, the health meter doesn't seem to indicate anything. I noticed that if I got to a screen where my health decreased and then tried to use an item I wasn't allowed to, my health would continue to decrease (even though nothing new had happened to cause me damage). I managed to get it down into neg

A fantastic sequel to Homo Perfectus. I'm eager to read your next sequel, Homo Perfectus 3. Although I wish you described the characters again in this one. I can't remember if you did it in the first one, but I'd like to know what they looked like. Putting it into this second one would be a nice reminder.

This was really really awesome! Magnificent improvement from HP1. There were still a few grammatical errors but they weren't at all like the first one and they weren't distracting whatsoever. As a non-native english speaker, you've done some incredible things. There was a gameplay flaw that I noticed. When I was hiding in Techno's closet, I should have been able to use my smelling to determine that they were still in the room. Also, some of the dialogue felt really contrived, particularly between gangsters. All of that being said, I really enjoyed this! Great job!

Took me a second try but I got the best ending again. This story was awesome and I'm eager to read the 3rd one.

I figured out what happened . I needed to pick up the powers . Doh! Lol . It was good especially the pictures.

Awful , because I couldn't use my powers. I walked through the desert and couldn't use my powers. The items wern't avaliable to click on. I'm using google chromo going to try internet explorer.

This is a really commendable story! I got the super-heroic ending in this but unfortunately, couldn't do the same for Homo Perfectus even after several attempts. Nevertheless, great job! You made Adam really likable and I really had fun seeing the story unfolding within his perspective. The story's plot is well-developed and even though I personally may not be a huge fan of sci-fi genre, but I still very much enjoyed it(hey, that means something, right?)

Overall, although there may be slight errors here and there, you still did a remarkable job! Congratulations! I will be moving on to Homo Perfectus 3 the next time I log in again! :) I gave this a 7/8!

@urnam0 thanks for pointing that out and I fixed the problem. Actually, I had two links on that page that depended on the variables, but you seems to have somehow got the variables in a quantity that was between both the categories.

I love the Homo Perfectus plot lines. Of course great, intricate games will have a few bugs, but once you fix them i am sure this will be a epic game :)
