Either way, you would be able to explore and find thoughts. Is this idea acceptable?

Does it count if you survive partially off of civilization? For example, the medieval ages are happening, so practically nothing grows that isn't either farmed or untamable, villages and human intervention are still a part of what you do to survive, but you still exist very much outside of that realm.

Just so everyone knows, just because the point system has been altered, doesn’t mean the victims are completely out of the woods. Really my main problem with it wasn't even so much the linearity (A lot of people had that problem) it was the wilderness aspect which wasn't the main focus. (Which a lot of people also had that problem as well)
In general there were some stories I really liked, but they didn't really fit the contest or were unfinished. Though I know they will probably be better if worked on or taken outside the context of the contest.

you dont know how satisfied this makes me because the main inspiration behind my work was the STALKER games which are very much alike to Metro.
In fact, i was even planning to use Shadow of Chernobyl concept art at various points in the story but implementing images into the cys editor as it turns out is an arduous process that takes more than the 10 minutes i had before deadline ended.

Well then, you clearly shouldn't have published a game you know was shit, and it's even worse that the game isn't even finished. It seems like cheating that you published your unfinished work yet it still counts as enough of a contest entry for you to get your points back. My issue isn't that you want to continue improving your story, please do, and more power to you. My issue is that you published it in the first place, not yours in particular, but yours does count as one of the examples I'm complaining about.

Oh, no, I physically can't. Kind of like how other diabolically powerful bird-man entities can open up hurricane-sized cans of whup-ass, but only as long as the people in front of that can are complete dicks. Even if I wanted to dominate the world, there's really no way to go about it without being spread over a few hundred parsecs of un-creation and suffering centuries of six-dimensional psychic disembowelment. That's not even the punishment of the Gods, I'm just heroic enough to murder alternate versions of myself that turn villainous whenever they arise in local universes. There's an entire bureaucracy of mes that own a patent on me, and reserve the right to recall "defective heroes".

I remember choosing this in the game. Somehow, even after my 5 play throughs, it still cracks me up.
Finally got finished reading through everyone's entries. Really enjoyed a lot of them. Some strayed a bit from the wilderness/survival theme, but in general it's nice to see a lot of new reading out there. People who say they aren't finished, I look forward to reading the completed stories too.
As far as my own project went, overall I'm happy with the concept though I still would have liked more time to clean up some scripting things and add additional story to it. I planned something I felt I could front-to-back complete in 3 weeks, and created an outline that covered my main goals for something exploration/combat driven for the theme. As a more gamey storygame, it's reliant on playable content, pacing, and stat balance, so in that regard I think some things still need improvement.
Planning to unpublish after the contest to fix a small bug, along with improving the progression balance, and cleaning up some text that's still a bit awkward. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might add some more content to fill in the map, since the overall goal is to make it be enjoyable and rewarding to wander around. Not just a grind to reach the end, which it leans too much towards right now. Story is more subjective, and I know the relaxed writing tone will be hit or miss with some people.
The thought would be to add more content not connected to discovery skills, so if you find things, you aren't locked out of half of it and having to double back. I still stand by the idea, but I think it's not well enough balanced with "free" things to find and do on the map. One of the biggest immediate issues is weapon cost, which I seemed to have way over-balanced by mistake, to such a point I doubt many people will bother finishing the game normally. I'll just say, working on it was a great learning experience.
