This isn't a thread for soft-hearted motivation. I require one thing - people to yell at me to work. Please, when motivating, use caps-lock and jokes at my expense until I get something done. Thank you.

Hey Mizal,
You're already doing a really great job. You're one of the best writers on the site, and you've published in the double digits, which is awesome! So don't be too hard on yourself(although I think this is more of a reference to an older thread. Thanks for referring me to this thread, here's the thread for people wondering: https://chooseyourstory.com/forums/writing-workshop/message/17192. It's a fun read!)

You published Kobold Kebabs earlier this year, which is already climbing the Fantasy ranks and doing really well!

I know this is a meme template but I couldn't resist doing some yelling. This post is for anyone who needs some motivation:

In less than two months from now, you'll look back on this year as it fades away, so what do you want to see?

A writer who doesn't write in a graveyard of unfinished stories?
A compulsive liar surrounded by missed deadlines and broken promises?
A has-been clinging onto past moments of triumph, slowly fading from relevance?

You said THIS was the year you would ACHIEVE SOMETHING! Weren’t you going to be BETTER than last year? Surely REGRESSION wasn’t in your new year’s resolution? If you don't keep to your goals, you're LYING TO YOURSELF and everyone else. 

Come on, is this really the story you want this year to tell? A tale of failure, not because you lost the race, but because you never even made it to the starting line? Such a shame.

Laziness and apathy aren't quirky CYStian traits. They are bad habits. An EXCUSE for SLOTHFUL WAYS that keep you from achieving TRUE GREATNESS!

BREAK THE PATTERN OF PROCRASTINATION.
MAKE THE MOST OF THESE LAST TWO MONTHS AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG.
WORK ON SOMETHING---ANYTHING---TODAY!

(This is more for myself than any of you that reads it, which means I don't need to hold back).

Edit - this post proved too effective. Rather than sleeping at a reasonable hour, I stayed up from midnight to 3am editing and writing 2k words after a day of traveling. Oh well, at least I can say the advice worked for somebody, even if that someone is me.

Love this! I'm going to read it every day till the year ends.

I wrote a post about loss aversion then realized I could be way more concise. Do this one thing and I guarantee you'll feel like writing:

Give your trophy to wolfgirl if you don't write 2k words in two days time. 

I'd rather go with the carrot option and make her go crying to the other mods again as a little treat.

Fine, since everyone else is failing.

If you don't start writing I'm going to come over, seduce you and make sweet forbidden eldritch horror love to you.

And hellish weather, guns, giant spiders, poisonous snakes and even disease ridden kissing bugs aren't going to stop me either. They'll just be part of the romantic ambiance.
