Player Comments on Fairview Highschool Game

The one is far too much for what this game deserves. This is not a Choice of game. It has only a path, only a correct choice in each phase. The rest are failures that makes you replay same choices over and over.

A terrible bad formulated choices in a terrible bad presented plotting with no development of characters or sense. Most of the time, you don't know what in hell is happening and choices seem random.

The big fights are totally random with choice options that doesn't describe at all what is occurring. At the end the only thing, you do as player is using the back button to randomly stumbled upon the convoluted only path to advance in the game.

It is obvious that the writer expent all his time trying fancy colors in the fonts and bad designed random events. Instead, of creating a real plot with meaningful dialogues and with a engaging mistery.

Let the people choose to end the game each time they die. And don't force us to play this one choice gauntlet just because you don't want bad ratings. This type of dishonest games should be forbidden.

I wish I could have given this a higher score. The author clearly had a lot of fun writing it. In the history of CYS this was a significant game.

Readers are presented with many options, most of which are hogwash, and the rest ultimately lead to the same ending.

This story was carried by humor and decent editing. In the early days random death links all over the place may have been an acceptable formula, but standards have risen dramatically. I would really like to see what the same writer would do today, probably something completely different.

With all the miscellaneous errands and pointless roundabouts in this game using the item feature of the editor could add quite a bit to the story. The final showdown, which was admittedly fun, would have been better if items and individual choices made during the story had an impact.

As it stands there is only one way to the final fight, only one way to win that, and as far as I can tell, only one ending.

Still, funny, occasionally very clever (The chemistry segment really stands out), with very nice spurts of characterization, and overall, a nice job.

It was linear, the deaths were lame, I disliked it in general, I don't understand why it's on the list of best games, and I had to go through the entire freaking thing so that I could give it the rating it deserved.

I normally wouldn't have bothered to go through a game I hated just so I could give it a bad rating, but I wanted to make sure my rating was listed on here so that if I checked the game out in the future, I would see the rating I gave it, remember that I hated it, and not waste my time.

I probably wouldn't have bothered to leave a bad comment about the game, either, if you hadn't forced me to do the entire thing just to rate it. I understand not letting people rate it at the beginning, in case trolls die on purpose just to give it a low score, but I got to third or fourth period before I decided it wasn't going to get any better, which I think is enough time to give it a fa

There weren't really many choices. If you didnt take the desired path you had to restart instead of truly having freedom. It would have been more fun without constantly being railroaded.

This game is so much fun. I wish there was more too it. I only have one bad comment is that I get so frustrated when I make a wrong move.But in the end it is really good it's also funny when you die I mean like the reason why you die is funny.I give this a 10/10

Oh dear lord, this game was painful! I mean, I kind of want to give the game a higher score, since the author clearly put in a lot of time and quite a bit of effort, but the game was just such a chore to get through.

The thing is, I LOVE puzzle games! Anything that involves solving puzzles gets an instant plus from me. It's probably my favourite category of computer game, period. But this... This wasn't exactly a "Puzzle" game. This was more of a, "Click a bunch of random links and hope you choose the right one" game.

That pretty much sums up the entire thing. Just click a bunch of random links and hope you don't die. Usually I find it frustrating when games are too short, but in this case the relatively decent game length was actually d negative thing, since it just left me with more random links to press and more pointless deaths.

I'm sorry but... It just wasn't fun. >.<

cool enough, slightly repetitive tho. the storyline was engaging enough, but kinda went far left when it left the realm of reality, but i guess it could be taken as a good or bad thing. I'd have preferred a more down to earth story than a big battle scene. also interesting that the main character can do all of that but dies from push-ups.

The last scene was a bit of fun working through, the dialogue was quite entertaining actually. The imposement of the author's political beliefs are quite prevalent in the story, which is exhausting and a little immature. While it was written almost 20 years ago, still resonates with those of the current times.
5/10. Not the best, not the worst. Grammar definitely needs help. It was nice to play through, and a long story for sure, takes about an hour or more with a lot of trial and error.

It was really good and fun, I liked it.

I hated dying and then having to start over from the last checkpoint. I feel like it would be better if there were more ways to get to the end and not as many "You Died!" I also hated the part with the twins Jenny and Jonny. The combination to get past them was really confusing and it was really hard to figure out.

I thought it was great! Love the story! my friend and me were racing to see how fast we could get to the end of the day first. I think I won! The only thing was I caught several spelling and typing errors. For next time, make sure to double check! ;) :)

This is the best choose your story type games that I have played in months. The story, depth, and personality of the charecters pulled me closer to the story and the game.I hope you make more storys like this and I would like to play your games again.

It was awesome, but I had a bit of trouble during the photography session. 10/10 rating!

Full criticism here in my part:
Grammar: 7/10. Can be understood for sure, but it has lots of fails here and there, and should be improved.
Creativity: 8/10. The story was good overall, with all that Fairview Cult stuff, but even i must agree a evil teacher is just too cliche.
Choice-making: 5/10. The choices are funny and allow for some comical remark, but it is too linear. It is either make the right choice or die.
Gameplay: 8.5/10. Not real difficult or big, but again, it is funny, allows for comical relief, and it makes some cool fights. However, i think that Fuddmeadow being defeated only with dialogue made it a very uninteresting boss "fight".
Overall, very good, deserves to be in the top-category, but some things just feel a bit rushed.

Honestly, TsukiNoBara is right. This game is boring, extremely linear, overly repetitive and only slightly better than most of the "one-page stories" on this site.

However, Melike and madglee are also very correct! This game averaged pretty low for me.

If I played only the first few pages I'd probably rate this a 3.

But, I didn't.

I stuck through the entire adventure. Heeding every word I heard. I followed the little clues, left and right and I uncovered Fairview's mysteries.

It wasn't too hard that I spent hours just to win so, I could say it too hard and sucked worse than Warrior Cats, but it forced to me think and ponder things like "Why did the author put this here?" or "Should I trust this guy or "Should i sneak away to "insert torture mechanism here" class?"

It was all-in all it wasn't that good but it wasn't that bad. Sometimes I found myself agreeing with Tsuki and often times laughing at that demon (Mrs. Someword And Some Other Word?) teacher's weakness at facing reality! XD

Anyways, I'd gIve this 5/8. It was too hard in the first time at the cafeteria (wasted 15 minutes thinking about the Bill Cosby poster and should have just gone to the vending machine) and the fight with Mrs. Hell Demon way too easy (but really funny)! :)

This game is disappointing. It seems rather pointless and boring. Choices do not mean anything since almost everything leads to death, and I did not find it funny.

Not a fan of the writing style, and many of the choices were 'broken' in no matter which you picked, it was the same result and the same link as the other choices. No rhyme or reason as to which choice worked so it was all luck. Having said all that, I did play it till the end.

I was bored and thought, hey, why not? Turned out to be totally worth my time! I played scenes over and over again just to amuse myself with the stories from different angles and it was all written in such an interesting way! Plus, it was a decent length and plotline for an online game. Also, it wasn't like those annoying games that make you start from the beginning if you make a mistake.

The Game was fun, but very hard, I continually tried going through the the game multiple times at least 30, I kept dying from the Demon bitch, she was to Needy of killing the Narrater and even when I didnt want to be in the cult the cult was alway trying to FORCE me into it. Over all the Game is for someone who can remember the games sequences and has lots of Patience as myself. Thank you for this Game, It was fun!

Great game

Though there were many spelling errors, the game overall was very enjoyable (and might I add, A LITTLE HARD) XD. I found myself failing time and time again, yet continuously replaying, in hopes of FINALLY finishing. I swear the final boss wasn't as hard as the first 3 levels, but all the same I reveled in it for almost 2 hours. Being compelled to retry several times until satisfied along with a competitive drive that's summoned from the 25% chance of not dying, is what brings me to realize the great potential this game has, and how somehow was able to sit through it all with ADD is truely astonishing. Great job.

Personally, I don't see how this is rated 6/8. It is very repetitive and nearly impossible, plus the deaths don't make the slightest bit of sense. It is not-well-thought-out, aka it's very linear, since there's pretty much only on path through.

It was pretty long, but i say that as a good thing, it kept me occupied for a while until I finally won.

It was good. But the first parts of it, ex: First period, Second, etc, will keep on guessing and guessing, so you won't die. Still, not bad, though.

Very fun, interesting. It was a bit challenging for me at first, but I wasn't reading carefully enough. If you read carefully, you will be able to figure out which options to choose. It's fun, humorous, I had a good laugh, and painfully true to almost every school I've gone to. You'll enjoy it.

Feels like it was made by an angry freshman student. It's horribly disgusting and the only saving grace it has is how imaginative and gruesome all of the death scenes are. It's really more fun to kill your character in the most awful ways you can than it is to try and beat the game.

Some of the deaths are rather cheap, however once you learn the general plot of the game (I.E Follow the cult) the adventure becomes a lot more enjoyable.

My god that was painful, I even missed the last page completely because I wanted to see how far I was from the end and well...it was the end. The grammar wasn't great and this game is just tedious to beat. The story is random and linear.

It was actually a lot of fun! Well, I'd say it was more hilarious than anything else. Definitely worth playing. (I loved after choosing the "Extra-scenic route" and then going to the bathroom that it calls you a "poor, unfortunate moron lol)

I'm one for a bit more reading but the fact that each passage was short helped the game go faster and it was rather entertaining to see all the ways that you could die in a school (when it's rulled by something evil that is) it was entertaining though there only ever seemed to be one way to get through to the end or one ending that wasn't a death. I would have liked to see an ending where you could turn dark side.

A long game. Very complex with minor grammatical errors. One thing I didn't like was the unpredictable and far-fetched deaths, and the looped links at some points. Lengthy and strong points and pages, and the plot kept the story going. Great job.

WHAT KIND OF HIGH SCHOOL IS THIS??? I got more than one good chuckle out of this though, and feel like it's a decent way to spend an hour (of course, the dying part was a little...infuriating) So...nice, sir, nice job.

This is the first storygame I've actually completed... It was fun, but I kept having to redo everything! It would've been a lot worse if I had had to start all over from the beginning again.. thank goodness for the "start over at 7th period" etc.!!

I really really loved this! The pepp rally was the best part, or course. My favorite battle was the battle with Annie, the evil CPR bot. All in all, best game ever!

Pretty fun for an old text-based game. The high school element is still very relatable and accurate. I enjoyed the stereotyping of typical high school characters and over the top plot. Good well thought up game that the maker should be proud of.<3

This game was soooooo stupid. There's no reality in it. If you mess up, then you start over, which loses you gamers. There's no graphics, which makes this incredibly boring and only played by people who have nothing better to do except for homework, and even that is better then this. This game could probably be cool if it was 3-D and you could make your own high school character. The plot sucks too. Evil demons, reLLY, THAT'S ALL YOU GOT. Plus this has nothing to do with high school at all, so why call it chooseyourstory if you can only make one choice with only one ending. It's all the same, you don't choose your own story at all, you just stare at a screen and click options until eventually you make the right path. I would probably love it if it was exactly like a high school. Choosing your classes and activities, your friends, crushes, love stories, graduating, maybe actually having a life like in sims, but better. There is so much you can do and this is not the way to go dude. Take some of these suggestions to MAJOR consideration and send a reply please. You might be surprised with the gamers that join and might actually be popular if you this thing.

WOW. BEST. GAME. EVER!!! I'll admit, at the beginning, I wasn't a big fan with all the death scenes and all, but it was worth it in the end. Great battle scenes, a bit linear during the end, but the rest had a lot of choices, so I'm good. Most certainly the best story game I have ever played thus far.

First of all, the death scenes are my favorite part of this game. They're just ridiculous enough to make me laugh and not ridiculous enough to detract from the story. Although the options kind of disappeared in the last few pages, the quality of the dialogue made up for it very well. And after all, there was a large body of options and exploration in earlier sections, so why not let the end be story driven? Solid story, and definitely good for a few laughs.

LOL, i actually really liked it. It was surprizingly very fun, and grabbed my attention. Most school games are boring, but the cult aspect made everything fun. I liked the end, fit very well. Best story I've seen in awhile, nicely done!

Wow. I liked it alot, but it was VERY hard for me to get the key to the elevator! And to get past Lunch. It was good, but it got REALLY boring at some parts, and too much reading on the final battle. Not really that many choices, except for stuff like "Beat them up!" and "Whoop their @$$!" and stuff like that.

That wasn't too bad. It turned too linear at the end. Whats up with Fairview and all the demons running around anyways? lol

The game was quite controlling, that is, each path had only one correct choice, and only a less-than-half percentage of these had any sort of advice, making this game more of a &#34;pick-something-at-random hope-for-the-best hit-the-browser's-back-button-if-you-die&#34; than a real Choose Your Own Adventure. If I wanted to gamble I'd go to Las Vegas. That, and the grammar and spelling sucks.
