Player Comments on Kick Dora's Butt!

Perhaps I'm a little too old, but I don't personally understand the Dora hate. Is she really that annoying? Now, if you made a game where you got to brutally torture and murder Scrappy-Doo in a variety of creative ways, THAT would be a premise I could get behind!

As for the game itself, well... It wasn't completely God awful. (Don't get me wrong, it was God awful, it just wasn't completely God awful.) On the plus side... Well... It had pictures and items, so well done for that, I guess.

The biggest flaw for me (other than the fact that there's no plot, story, characters, or pretty much anything that makes a game worth playing) is that I'm guessing that this game was supposed to be funny... And it wasn't. I saw literally nothing funny in it. I mean even those God awful "OMG! Totes so random!" games that we all hate so much at least make an attempt at humour, but yours didn't even have that. Considering this is meant to be a joke game (presumably), I don't think I counted a single joke at all.

I think the one and only "joke" in this game is, "You're trying to kill Dora the Explorer. It's funny because you hate her." Which completely went over my head, since I never watched Dora. Maybe if I'd watched the show and knew what it is about Dora that apparently makes everybody who saw it as a kid want to murder her, I might've appreciated the game a bit more. As it is... I guess I'm glad you got to live out your fantasy. ^_^

Hmm... I think I may have overrated this the first time I played this.

Looking back on it, I think I rated this more because I found it funny rather then quality writing. The storygame I still find funny, but now I find it to be a lot less quality then before.

I do hate Dora, and I still love the fact that you made a storygame centered around it. Although some of the situations seemed rather illogical, such as a fat little scumball with no muscle who's about ten years old somehow managing to throw me off the train and under train tracks as I try to carve her face off with a knife.

The ending made no sense honestly. Not to me at least :P

It was very short, and only took me about two minutes to complete. I think more detail would be great for this storygame because it seemed very linear and poorly thrown together.

And like Sent said, the name calling made this storygame rather amusing xD

I feel like you used humor as a replacement for well developed characters, and remember, character development is always crucial. I understand Dora is an evil bitch, but nothing beyond that. I know I hate Dora, and nothing more.

I thought this story was pretty funny if I may say so myself, me and my friend are in school, and we read this during your school reading time, and we nearly got kicked out of class because we were giggling. I enjoyed this story, thank you for the short-lived, but funny experience.

This is the single best thing I have played in my life.

Definitely one of those 'Dora Torture' content out there. Concept is quite grim but relevant in 2005. Lots of unexpected endings and abrupt transitions, but the story itself was funny. Overall, I'll give this a 2/8.

The fact that the author made this game on the day their account was created and then never came back again is gold.

Played this some eons ago. It's probably the nostalgia talking, but this thing will always have a special place in my heart. Though the humour hasn't aged the best, nor was it ever the peak of comedy, it does what it needs to. And I did indeed laugh. Had a laugh back then, had a laugh now.

Those lovingly crafted images of Dora's devilishness are never not going to make me smile no matter what. It isn't something to play if you're looking for a serious, finger-clenching adventure, but if you wanna destroy Dora the Explorer, you get what you wish.

*sigh* The one time I don't want to brutally murder a character the first chance I get to see what would happen, I get blown up with a grenade. I guess I always knew I'd go out that way at some point. So tragic, my generation is for wanting to murder a girl whos whole purpose in life is teaching little kids a language that is the #2 language in the entire world!(chinese is #1 and english is #3)

I was not in the mood to kill a childhood icon so I didn't go further than the grenade, sorry. Maybe I'll come back when I'm more bloodthirsty and feel like destroying my childhood.

I mean, there was good grammar and stuff like that but: why are we killing Dora?

Honestly, in my opinion, Dora's a rad little girl. Does the author just hate her? Did they want to be funny by killing her? I read the description and I conclude that you guys just dislike her.

Even for fanfiction, this wasn't that impressive. Our main goal was to kill Dora. But that's it. And if we didn't, we would explode because of her. There should've been more to this story to make it interesting. Maybe we could become friends with her! That would be more interesting than just trying to kill her.

This story had unimpressive writing, it had no real plot, and it didn’t really have a whole lot of branching.
The grammar was more decent than that of some stories, but that and the novelty of killing Dora was not enough to make this a good story. A torn scrap of quality paper is still just a piece of garbage even if it's nice and smooth to touch.
There was nothing to this. 2005 was a dark time.

I liked the mountain picture on the first page.

The story was okay. I get that it was supposed to be a humour story, and the premise was fun. I found that most pages had either a 'good' or a 'wrong' choice, with the good choices continuing the (relatively short) story, and he bad choices leading to a game over. Sometimes the bad ends were obvious, but other times they seemed to be random.

“Kick Dora’s butt” is one of the most exuberant and Gratifying pieces of literature that I’ve ever had read in my entire lifetime. With all of the equal character development, engaging story, and dramatic conclusion, this story will be one wild ride for you.

My only complaint is that the title is misleading, as you don’t kick Dora’s butt like it says you would

I was promised the ass of a butthead, so that I may shove my boot up it with speed and magnitude. I was only mildly disappointed.

I kind of like this one. I kind of don’t. The sheer absurdity of it is good enough. The premise of destroying “babyish” characters definitely brings back memories of rebellious single-digit-years gone by. It’s a storygame blatantly written by a kid, for kids. By all means, I should hate it, but I don’t. And, judging from the comments it gets to this very time of writing, very few other people do either. I guess it’s kind of like the “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” of CYS. Juvenile and corny, but at the same time endearing enough for a fair amount of people to kinda-sorta put it on the map and inspire sequels.

There’s quite a bit of randomness, the plot isn’t the best, and there’s more than one instance of the picture not at all matching up to the description. There’s death links passed about indiscriminately, and the game is otherwise not very well-designed. However, what it does good, it does good, and I can’t fault it for that.

Dora’s ridiculous evasion skills and insults like “Snooty little weiner” make the game well worth playing. The game shows its fair share of precociousness to complement its immaturity, and provides you with a style that, imo, is pretty entertaining to read.

Also, you blow up Dora with a Rocket Launcher. How have I not rated this shit before!?

I didn't know I needed this story in my life until I read it. I really hated Dora as a kid so you basically fulfilled my childhood fantasy of using a bazooka to kill an animated child cartoon character.

I actually really enjoyed it. Kf it was longer I might have actually given it a six or higher! Please make a sequel were you kill boots!

This reminded me of something on YouTube I watched, a really long time ago. It was about these two stickmen that were being hunted by Dora. The effects were bad, and it was poorly done. The only thing that really saved that video, was the hilarity of how funnily bad it was.

A moving, deeply emotional story. "Kick Dora's Butt" explores themes of survival in the wilderness, courage in the face of great danger, and responding to evil with compassion and understanding. This is truly a must-read... Or perhaps I should say, "must-choose."

This game felt like it had the bare requirements necessary for a storygame: characters, conflict and a plot. But it was all only barely there, making this game quite dull. The chance to kill Dora was about the most interesting thing, which isn't saying much.

Not That bad at all! Actually quite good, however there were three key mistakes that contributed to its 4/8. Firstly, it's poor plot and bad characters, secondly a bad subject that can't really make all that good of a game, and lastly not long enough at all! Also, when you pull out a rocket launcher and aim at someone, they usually shoot the hostage! So again 4/8.
