This thread is reminding me of all those old Christmases when I was a poor black child from Detroit in the 80s.

Simpler times to be sure.

This looks a little before my time, but based on the clip the movie seems pretty cool I think I might check it out.

Mine was awful. I felt like shit the entire day for some reason and my grandma basically pressuring me into an alcohol induced coma. The gifts I got were shower gel and deodorant, lots of shower gel and deodorant. Think they're trying tell me something and they're not being subtle about it!

My girlfriend just gave me money. A woman I work with gave me some treats and snacks from Hong Kong (since she's originally from there) and her number at the bottom of the bag saying xx. Not sure what to make of that. I'm sure she's just being friendly but it did catch me off guard.

Overall it was a nice day. At least no big arguments at the family gathering so better than Last year.

Just seeing what she's about duuude. I won't be doing any weird shit, and its not fully known yet. She's just super complimentary, giving constant winky faces. Telling me she thinks I have beautiful eyes. She saw that I have no profile pic on WhatsApp and was like "let me take handsome photos of you" Like whatttt. But no, she's probably just being kind. She said she gave me her number because she can tell by my eyes that I'm sincere.

I sure hope so, I'd find it awkward if not. Part of its probably also language barrier. She struggles a bit more with texting I can tell. 

Speaking to her right now and she actually just said it too. She basically said she feels like id actually just be her friend instead of being weird about it like most boys. That makes me happy. 

This chicks making absolutely no sense. She's now saying her "sixth sense". Is telling her I have a crush on her lol. Which fuckin makes no sense if she said she gave me her number because she thought I'm sincere and won't be weird. I said I'm genuinely not into her in that way, she's gone quiet, and I'm like, " Are you okay, is it bad that I'm Not" And she' said "I don't know". I guess you're wrong Milton.

I just read the entire Crimson-aunt saga and from what I can gather one of 2 things must be true: either you’re 1.overreading into the situation and she’s just being nice or 2. Your aunt should not be around kids or at the very least should be more aunt-y.

I feel like 1 might be more plausible but if it’s 2, then damn.

It's just a friendly rib at how common a thing it is to do in my family, since pretty much all the men got the same set. It's the thought that counts, especially since my grandma buys gifts for EVERYONE. She spends a lot of money at Christmas on us all.

My brother, his friends, and I went to a fancy restaurant near the Capitol, where I drank draught IPA, ate fried shrimp, and didn't even have to pay for anything when all was said and done. My family is really big on New Year's (communism moment), so we're gonna keep festivities going until Orthodox New Year!
