Hear ye, hear ye!

The Kingdom of Cystia wishes it to be known that a new service has appeared in the form of the most Noble and Admirable Order of The Reviewers. This Review Club will be a volunteer force providing reviews on request to all of Cystia’s fine citizens. The details are listed below and all are welcome and encouraged to use this group to request reviews for their stories – this will make feedback available within a reasonable timeframe to those who want it. Special thanks to those fearless scholars who join The Review Club!

THE REVIEW CLUB

OVERVIEW

The Review Club is a group of volunteer Reviewers who read and review story-games on request. Reviewers pledge to complete a requested review within 4 weeks of assignment to a decent standard and can have up to 3 active requests at a time. Each Writer can have 1 active review request at a time.

REVIEWERS

1: Anyone can join The Review Club.
2: Reviewers can leave and rejoin at any time, as long as they have no outstanding Reviews unfinished.
3: Reviewers who volunteer to join The Review Club pledge to read and review any assigned reviews within 28 days.
4: The reviews must be of “a reasonable standard” (no single word or single sentence reviews!).
5: Each Reviewer may have up to 3 active review requests at a time, though only one of these can be for a 6-8 length story.
6: Reviewers receive additional points for each review completed in this way:
Level 0: 0 Completed Reviews (Peasant)
Level 1: 1 Completed Review – 1 Extra Point per review (Serf)
Level 2: 2 Completed Reviews – 2 Extra Points per review (Farmer)
Level 3: 5 Completed Reviews – 3 Extra Points per review (Craftsman / Craftswoman)
Level 4: 10 Completed Reviews – 4 Extra Points per review (Merchant)
Level 5: 20 Completed Reviews – 5 Extra Points per review (Knight)
Level 6: 50 Completed Reviews – 6 Extra Points per review (Lady / Lord)
Level 7: 100 Completed Reviews – 7 Extra Points per review (Prince / Princess)
Level 8: 200 Completed Reviews – 8 Extra Points per review (King / Queen)
Level 9: 500 Completed Reviews – 9 Extra Points per review (Emperor / Empress)
Level 10: 1,000 Completed Reviews (basically all the stories on the site) – 10 Extra Points per review (God / Goddess)
7: Reviewers who fail to complete a review within 28 days without good reason will receive a strike. Three strikes lead to permanent expulsion from The Review Club. One Strike can be erased by completing 10 assigned Reviews.
8: If no Reviews are assigned to a Reviewer in a four-week period the Admins will assign them a review.
9: Reviews are assigned to a specific Reviewer by request or made available to any Reviewers.
10: Only one 6-8 length story can be assigned to a reviewer at a time, unless the reviewer feels they can handle two.

WRITERS

1: Anyone can request a Review for one of their stories or another person's story, though they can only have one active request at a time. If they request a specific reviewer for someone else's story that Reviewer has the right to refuse.
2: Writers can ask for a specific Reviewer or any available reviewer.
3: Writers cannot ask for a specific Reviewer to keep reviewing the same story but they can ask for a specific Reviewer to review different stories.
4: Writers who request a Reviewer who already has three review requests can join that Reviewer’s Waiting List.
5: Writers cannot request reviews of deliberately impossible stories. Doing so will put them on a Banned list so they cannot request Reviews in the future.
6: If a Writer thinks a Review is especially poor (single words or sentence), they can appeal to an Admin and request a Strike for the Reviewer.
7: Obviously Writers can't request that they review their own stories!

ADMINS

1: Admins will monitor the Review Club, award bonus points and help to manage it generally.
2: Admins, at their discretion, can request reviews on behalf of other writers, which can be accepted by any reviewer who wishes to take them on.

If I were to join this club and someone were to request me to review a story whose contents I subjectively disliked, would I still be obligated to complete the review or would I have the option to decline?

The Review Club

one month ago
I am afraid you would have to review it but you can enthusiastically record your dislike and explain your contemptuous but heartfelt disdain towards the author and all their work in your review :)

The Review Club

one month ago
Hmm... a fair compromise I suppose. I'd like to join then. :]

Fantastic, welcome aboard! Don't forget, if the workload is overwhelming you can leave or pause at any time :D (just try not to leave any outstanding review requests).

It's not that bad! But thanks and welcome :D

The Review Club

Well it was more in reference to being the 4th to arrive in the same way as a certain horsemen from that one obscure book nobody read does.

Don't worry the duty won't be grim to me, quite the opposite actually ;-)

Lol, just realized I'm already in! Sweet! In that case, ignore my earlier message, it was a bit superfluous. I'd also like to make a request for a story review. Any members here, could you review "The Book of Vanishing Tales" by Cameron, if you haven't already done so. It's an older story that I think is really cool, and I've been meaning to write a review for, so hopefully I'll get some accountability by reviewing it alongside another accomplished reviewer :)

I'm sure there will be other requests, so don't feel any pressure to accept this one! Also, sorry to Gryphon in advance, I know you already reviewed this one, but I'm sure there will be another request that will be just as cool.

Reviewer: Any(except Gryph since he already wrote a marvelous review for this story :) )

The Review Club

one month ago
Hey RK, thanks for the request for the story review :D Unfortunately writers can only request reviews for their own stories (though it's typically generous of you to request someone else's story get reviewed!) otherwise site members can be sending reviewers all over the site to review the most difficult and challenging stories they can find. Of course people can respond to your request by reading The Book of Vanishing Tales if they want to privately. If you want someone to read your story (I know I've been meaning to read it for a while) feel free to request any or a specific reviewer to review it :D

The Review Club

one month ago
Oh that’s a really good point. Honestly, that makes sense. In that case, I’ll be on the lookout for any requests. You should totally do a request for Tales of Erenel!

Thanks for letting me know!

I’ll request that you review my story, Gay and Depressed in Prison. You can do it any time, I’m interested to see what you think!

The Review Club

one month ago
Don't worry, I'll update the Original Post to help people keep track of their review requests. Haha, I'm sure I'll request someone review Tales of Erenel in the future, just used up my current review request. Thanks, I'll get on that ASAP :)

I will probably regret this in the future, but I'd love to join this if possible!

That reminds me, Writers may also request reviews from the ever growing pool of Reviewers! As per the instructions, you may specify an individual or leave it open so one of the reviewers could take on the request.

Wow, a massive welcome and thanks to Malk, Beefhotpot, Ben, Unescapable Death, Mouse, Milton, Fabrikant, Anthraxus and Liminal! It’s really wonderful to see such a great turnout! :D Now that The Review Club has so many members, we need something for them to do: feel free to request reviews for one of your stories, whether you are a review club member or not, and you can request it from a specific member of the Review Club or from any (I’ll randomly assign it alphabetically to a free reviewer). There are a lot of great reviewers here who have kindly volunteered to provide feedback on request.

I’ll get the ball rolling (and provide an example) by asking that Mystic review my story Climbing Beyond The Clouds. So, I make this request on 19 Jan and she has 4 weeks to finish it so her deadline is 16 Feb. As a writer this is my one available review request and it fills up one of her three active review request slots until she completes it and she still has room for two more, including one 6/8+ length story (mine is only 3/8). If she completes it, she will go up 1 level to the honourable, if humble, rank of Serfdom and get 1 bonus point on top of the one she gets anyway for reviewing it.

Just a reminder, any site member can request a review from any member of the Review Club but only for one of their own stories and can only have one active review request at a time. Also, if you want to be nice requesting people review one of your stories that is also in MHD's Most Needy Storygames Contest will also help people in that competition progress there as well as here (for the record, Liminal, UnescapableDeath, Avo, Beefhotpot, MrAce, RK, Mystic, Will, Clay, Cavus, Cat, Mouse, TypedRooster, Swagdog, Ben, QoH and VeeR are all also in MHD's competition).

I will keep track of all review requests in the Original Post and update it every day or two so look there if you need up-to-date info on your or other club members reviews as well as other details.

Thanks for having me! Since this is the review club, I will go ahead and answer the question in your review on Fleeing the Forest, can rabbits kill owls?

Technically, yes. Anything can kill anything. If you've ever seen videos of a deer fucking up people with its legs, you'll know that herbivores can in fact be vicious as hell when they think they're being threatened. Rabbits will usually prefer to run and hide at all times, but between their sharp teeth and their strong legs and big feet, there is a reason why birds like to grab rabbits when they are out in the open: when you put a rabbit in a corner or threaten its' young, that rabbit will fight you with suicidal fury. Fight or flight applies to prey as well.

There is footage I watched when I was doing research on rabbits where a golden eagle (again, a big, powerful EAGLE) swooping down on a kit only for a rabbit to come bursting out of the grass and ram into it like the kool aid man through a wall. Soon as that eagle hit dirt, it raised its head and began to get up (presumably to take flight) only to have its head kicked so hard it stayed down.
(later examination of the eagle by the videotapers, which were apparently nature photographers, confirmed it was unconscious and called a park ranger). But yes, birds do get killed by rabbits. Aside from the chance of broken necks or head injuries, you have you ever been bitten by a rabbit? Sharp and painful, isn't it? Imagine that rabbit being half or two/thirds your size and attempting to bite your throat with teeth that are as big as your foreleg. That's how a bird feels. Now again, birds are not stupid. They know this. Which is why they absolutely will not corner a rabbit unless they are starving, and they will not go for a baby rabbit until they have checked to make sure the adult watching it is too far away to get to the kit in time.

Now, could an owl be killed by rabbits? That would be a lot more difficult, as rabbits have difficulty seeing in the dark (dawn and dusk is where their eyes excel), whereas owls are nighttime predators and move silently. So could a rabbit by itself kill a owl? Likely not. Could a group of them gang up on one if it was desperate enough to attack a group (owls prefer lone prey unless they're starving)? Yes, they could, although they'd be much more likely to make a break for the nearest burrow if possible. Which would lead to most of them surviving whereas one would likely get grabbed.

In short, yes that scene was within the realm of possibility, but the scene where the owl actually gets Hops is what would be the most likely outcome in a real life nature scene. Luckily it's a fictional story :)

The Review Club

one month ago
Wow, you really did your research for Fleeing the Forest :D We don't tend to imagine rabbits as natural-born killers (except the one in Monty Python and the Holy Grail) but I suppose they can be as tough as any wild animal. I've never been bitten by a rabbit but I know someone who has and he confirmed that rabbits can be surprisingly savage :) I can envisage a scenario where a gang of vicious blood-thirsty rabbits, all coked up on mutated lettuce and nerves on edge from living in a burrow filled with a continually screaming horde of one hundred hungry babies, could go to town and really f*ck up an owl if they got lucky.

I found your story was surprisingly enjoyable for a bunny tale (though longer than an actual bunny tail :) ), which are not usually my thing, and does make me want to read Watership Down when I have time. It was fun exploring the different options and you should request someone to review it :D

The Review Club

one month ago

Which one are you thinking?

The Review Club

one month ago

If you're offering, whichever one you want to read works. I mainly didn't want to scare off new recruits with novel length stories in the first week lol.

Edit: if you want to kill two birds with one stone, These Shackled Souls and Constellaris Court would count towards MHD's Reading Contest.

The Review Club

one month ago
I’m actually already working on Constellaris Court.

The Review Club

one month ago
On one hand I see that as barely a challenge myself, but then I remember 100k words is most people's yearly reading capacity so could be fun to see that.

The Review Club

one month ago

Dare we to dream that we are not most people?

The Review Club

I did read and review Rogues in 48 hours, and yes I got all the main endings.

There is hope in this world.

With that reminder, time for me to review one of End's stories again.

The Review Club

one month ago

I mean, I've read the entire harry potter series in about a week, and I think that's close to 400k(?), so I'm not too worried about that threat.

The Review Club

one month ago

Who the heck takes 4 weeks to read a 100k game?

The Review Club

one month ago
People with jobs and post-job lives, generally. Writing a review to match a 100k storygame is also a bit more time consuming than just reading it simple as.

The Review Club

one month ago

Well yeah a review can take for EVER. FOREVER.

The Review Club

one month ago

Tbf the real challenge is writing a 100k game in 4 weeks.

The Review Club

one month ago

I request for you to assign me a 100k storygame I have not yet read and reviewed appropriately. And by appropriately, I mean a review that is longer and more detailed than the contents of this reply.

The Review Club

I'll assign you These Shackled Souls, so the deadline should be 19th February.

The Review Club

LOL thanks for saving these for posterity.

The Review Club

one month ago
Yeah, it's a choice :D Either we have things like this review club and MHD's competition encouraging quality reviews or we get stuff like this. People get out what they put in and you need to be the change you want to see. Or something like that :)

The Review Club

one month ago
Ok, so I have reviewed RK's story Gay and Depressed in Prison (it's hilarious btw - check it out!) and this 1 review has transformed by social status in a positive way, elevating me from the common Peasantry to the heady social heights of Serfdom (i.e. Level 1). I also get a bonus point for that. Please do request another story or stories for me to read and request more reviews generally to get more quality feedback for everyone. This is a great chance to get people reading and reviewing the writing you have poured time, energy and creativity into.

The Review Club

one month ago
Nicely done, Will! I hope it made you laugh, and yeah, I know it's not the best! But, I do have future plans for storygames that will hopefully be of a higher quality than G&D, and I can't wait to assign them to the fantastic reviewers here!

I'd like to request that @Will11 read my story When The Music's Over, as he once interviewed me about the story, got the title wrong in the article, and then I found out recently in his review of my story Bright Days that he had never read any of my stories before (which means he interviewed me about a story he didn't even read). I figure it'd only be fair.

The Review Club

one month ago
I don't remember that. It must not have happened :) And request noted.

The Review Club

You guys should read Sir Osis.

The Review Club

one month ago
If the author of Sir Osis requests a review someone can :)

The Review Club

one month ago
Welp, I ended up reading it anyway since it seemed fun and I had no pending requests.

The Review Club

one month ago

You know what, I'll just pretend you've been assigned the story and update the leaderboard accordingly.

The Review Club

one month ago
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it. :)

The Review Club

one month ago
I'd like to request someone review Ninja's True Life, which hasn't had any new reviews but RK's for awhile now. It's one of his lesser read stories and not all that long, but it's one I really thought had a fascinatingly fucked up central character. (Edit: technically not the POV character though, brain blip)

The Review Club

one month ago
It's been a while since I read anything like those so I wouldn't mind checking it out, but no idea if this counts as an official request due to not coming from the author and all. Special mod priviledge to give people actual work maybe?

The Review Club

one month ago
Alright, I think we can accept that. Mods can make review requests on behalf of other writers because surely no mod would abuse their powers and find the 3 most difficult stories on the site and request that a particular member they do not like review them all, would they? :) The Review Club will have to have some flexibility or it's probably not going to work. If you want this one you can have it Cavus, I'll update the OP.

The Review Club

one month ago
Maybe they can pick out stories, but can't choose who's supposed to review them? That would do as a safeguard from possible mod abuse.

Not that our kind, generous and very benevolent mods would ever even think about something so beneath them as user abuse.

The Review Club

one month ago
I think that is an excellent idea :D

The Review Club

one month ago
I'd also like Cavus to read everyrhing written by Mara and WIBN please...oh. Well never mind then.

The Review Club

one month ago
I mean nothing stops me from taking a recommendation outside the review club, but I won't be going through entire libraries because someone finds my suffering entertaining.

The Review Club

one month ago
Task complete, and I do agree the main character was a highlight of the story. Quite a well done depiction of a psychopath.

The Review Club

one month ago
Looks like things are going swimmingly here. We're slowly getting more reviews going.

Writers, there is still an untapped pool of talented reviewers that you can forcibly and involuntarily draft!

Mara's stories are fun! I only read one so far, but I really liked "Elvis at the Beauty Contest"! It was cool!

The Review Club

Done. I’ll review “Elvis at the Beauty Contest” "Phoenix Whip."

The Review Club

Ugh, no, not that one. I did a line by line rewrite of that one and it's also a children's story, it's not remotely the authentic experience.

Thanks RK! I'm keeping the OP updated and keeping an eye out generally but please post on this thread when you finish a review as well so I can update things and give you your bonus points quicker. :)

I notice that there are still several reviewers in need of something to review. I would like to request reviews for the following stories for anyone who would like to read them:

By the Light of Day by Fluxion.

One Day's Adventure by Gryphon.

Lasso of Time by Orange.

The Duke of Winslow by Darius_Conwright.

The Lost Emperor by Crescentstar.

All five have received good player ratings but have found themselves in the Top 5 Storygames in Need section on the homepage (all of them except The Lost Emperor are also in MHD's review competition). Please feel free to help out your fellow writers by reading and reviewing one of these well-written stories - any that are still unclaimed by the end of the weekend I'll read and review next week.

Please post here which one or ones you'd like to read (remember, each reviewer can only review one 6/8 or more length story at a time - otherwise you might be taking on too much - but choose up to 3 stories to review altogether) and I'll update the OP. :)

The Review Club

I'm willing to read The Lost Emperor. I've read two out of these five :)

I'm happy to take One Day's Adventure as well.

Well done :D Bonus point awarded, level and social status raised and feel free to try another review whenever you want :D

The Review Club

I'll take Winslow. With Anthraxus's story that I still have yet to read, I'll be at 2 requests. I think that's decently manageable.

The Review Club

Excellent, all sounds good. :) That leaves By The Light of Day available

The Review Club

I'll take By the Light of Day

The Review Club

Did this one a few days ago

The Review Club

You did but it was a couple of days after the deadline so I reassigned it again (same thing happened to RK and Ben, who either didn't do their reviews or did them late). No worries, Chris' story gets 2 reviews and there are new requested reviews available all the time :)

The Review Club

Was the deadline not, like, yesterday?

The Review Club

I am pretty sure it was a few days ago because I logged in, checked the dates of deadlines compared to that day's date, added strikes and made new review requests for those not submitted on time (RK also missed his but by coincidence I accepted a review request for the same story so I didn't ask anyone else to review that one as well). In the future I'll make note of the dates of the missed deadlines and the dates the strike was awarded, you should have seen you no longer had any assigned reviews at the time you made the review for Chris' story?

The problem is the dates of the forum posts are for some reason very vague ("one month ago", "four weeks ago", etc) instead of dated so I'll tighten up my note-keeping and make info a bit more explicit on the strikes :)

The Review Club

The exact dates are there when you hover your mouse over them.

Chris requested it on the evening of Jan 23rd, I don't know if that's the same as the date it was officially assigned but Malk posted his review on Feb 23rd. Which I guess means he technically may have missed the mark if he was thinking of 4 weeks as "one month" and not 28 days.

But in any case, I heard a rumor you two would be enemies from this day forth.

It's nice to see one week in we've got several completed reviews, several pending ones and a few people moving up the levels to get point bonuses :) For those still in need of reviews I'm going to request reviews for the stories on MHD's Most Needy Storygames contest - I think I will request reviews every Monday and alphabetically so those who want to read something decent and write about it can. The reviews I'm requesting this week are:

Altair-III by JohnX (taken)

As Ink by Sherbet (taken)

Avarga by Enterpride (taken)

Please do feel free to request reviews for your own stories if you haven't already, it's always nice to get feedback :D

Edit: We also have requests for the following:

Of dreams and daemons by Clayfinger (taken)

Error: Name Not Found by Unescapable Death (taken)

The Review Club

one month ago
I'll take Avarga. :D

I'd also like to make an open request for a review on Of Dreams and Daemons which is also part of MHD's contest. I didn't want to force anyone to read it since it's the longest thing I've written so far. XD

The Review Club

No, you're right. People can have up to 3 active review requests but only 1 for a story 6/8 or more in length (so people don't boldly take on more than they can easily do :) ).

Can't you review your own story to advance in the ranks?

The Review Club

I feel that would be cheating :) Also everyone would just say their own story was great.

The Review Club

Altair definitely needs more attention, but JohnX's other game is worth a look too.

The Review Club

I can take "Of Dreams and Daemons."

The Review Club

@beefhopot, @CavusRex, either of you want to take on Altair-III or Error: Name Not Found?

Any not taken by Thurs, I'll review :)

The Review Club

I tried to review Altair during the summer contest, but the minigame part of it didn't work for me and it still doesn't so I won't be able to review it for that reason. Most likely this is on me and my setup and not the game's fault.

The Review Club

I'll take Error: Name Not Found too.

The Review Club

The Review Club

I can snag Altair-III if Cavus is passing on it.

The Review Club

Ok, all yours :) That's all stories assigned for this week, I'll request reviews for a load of story games next Monday :D If anyone wants to request reviews for Beef or Cavus in the meantime, feel free. Oh, and please let me know when you finish reviews so I can award people their bonus points and move them up levels so they can get more bonuses :D

The Review Club

one month ago
Hey Reviewers, I hope you're all doing well and having a great week :D The Review Club is making great progress producing some outstanding reviews! If anyone is in need of more here is a list of Requested Reviews taken from MHD's Most Needy Storygames (B) - there are plenty there so feel free to grab one that appeals:

The Backup by Anthraxus

Before the Pattern Breaks by roseyanover

Betarune by imadgalaxyx (taken)

A Bird in a Cage by MrAce321

Blood in the King's Court by Orange (taken)

The Boy Who Would Be Duke - The Journey to Agincourt by MiltonManThing

Bright Days by Chris113022

Broken Bonds by Cat2002116 (taken)

By the Light of Day by Fluxion (taken)

You can pick any you haven't reviewed already (up to a max of 3 assigned reviews) and any that are still unclaimed by Thursday I'll nab :) Don't forget you can request reviews for your own stories and also anyone can join The Review Club whenever they want - 16 people joined on Day 1 and then 0 joined after that :D The door's not shut, anyone can sign up (and leave) at any time. Please let me know when you finish writing reviews so I can move people up levels and award point bonuses :D

I shall use this opportinity to cross Betarune off my bucket list.

I've been meaning to read Blood in the King's Court so I'll take that one! ^^

The Review Club

one month ago
Sadly I have reviewed those already (I also started MHD's challenge from the top)

The Review Club

one month ago
Ah, you're doing it alphabetically? :D I'm doing it by word count (smallest to biggest)! Ok, well people will request reviews for their stories (hopefully) and those might be the ones to pick up. I'll also put in requests for my stories after Mystic reviews Climbing Beyond The Clouds and I'll throw in a few others as well.

The Review Club

Ok, I'll pick up all the untaken ones I haven't reviewed already which is Broken Bonds. All the rest I've already reviewed (I didn't review By the Light of Day or Blood in the King's Court yet but both of those have already been taken). Any requested reviews that haven't been picked up yet I'll just carry over to next week but surely out of 16 potential reviewers someone can pick up some of these remaining five? :)

The Review Club

Won't be me. I've already reviewed the ones that are left. :[

The Review Club

Yes, I do see the problem :) But only half of the Review Club have also signed up for MHD's competition as well and of those who have, not all will have completed all the reviews I'm recommending - some will have though. I'll keep recommending the stories from MHD's list but people can also request reviews for their own stories as well. People have plenty of reviews to complete so I guess they'll be busy working on those for the next few days as well :)

The Review Club

Yup, there's definitely no lack of stories to review that's for sure.

Would it be possible to allow club members to just review stories without a request and submit that they made a review here? We could make this something reviewers can do if they DON'T already have any pending requested reviews.

The Review Club

Isn't people just reviewing stories without a request what people do anyway? :) I don't think people should get extra points for that :D

The Review Club

Hmm, I suppose you are right. Still, if you intend to issue special requests for all the Most Needy Storygames, point hungry participants of that contest would probably find it more effective to wait for the request to appear here, rather than review it on their own. I personally don't care one way or another. I'm just saying the current approach might slow review speed down rather than speed it up.

The Review Club

Hm, you do make some good points that require a bit of thought. First, I plan to request reviews for the stories alphabetically so in six months I will request reviews for all of the storygames on MHD's list anyway and I think it is unlikely that many members will finish her competition in much less time anyway so I don't think I'll slow people down there anyway. Also, waiting weeks or months for a story they are waiting for to come up just to earn an extra point or two seems like extreme behavior and there's a good chance they'd miss the request anyway if they aren't online at the right time so I don't think many members will take this approach. I'll admit it's a possibility.

I just want to get people reviewing more generally and reviewing the stories in need specifically. I think the approach as a whole increases the number of reviews rather than decreases it except in the very specific circumstances you mentioned. The alternative is to not request reviews for the needy storygames (which I don't want to do) or request reviews for all of them at once, which will be overwhelming (especially as we have 5 unclaimed requests still waiting) and probably an impossibility.

The best thing would be if people request more reviews for their stories but until that happens I think encouraging people to read the most needy storygames is a good compliment to MHD's competition and also good for the authors of those stories themselves, who are many of the most active and talented writers on the site whose work does deserve more attention (many of them are members of the Review Club too). We'll see how things go for a while but you make some good points :D

The Review Club

Fair enough, I do think having a place where people can request reviews of their stories is really valuable. Maybe once the idea of making requests here becomes more normalized among site users, we won't have to worry about reviews being slowed down.

The Review Club

I think the main two things affecting the lack of requests so far is that with the current system people can only request reviews of their own stories (which is fine since the main idea is to help people get reliable feedback on their stuff), and that people probably don't see a need/are too shy to request someone read one of their old stories. Making a request for their freshly released story will probably feel less awkward and happen more often, but for that people first need to publish some stories.

And yeah nothing stopped people from either asking for or giving recommendations before and shouldn't now. Extra points are cool, but getting to read an interesting story you might've otherwise missed is cooler.

The Review Club

Yeah, tbh I thought one of the main motivations of writing was to get feedback for what you wrote from your respected and scholarly literary peers so I thought people would be keen to do that. I've not noticed many shy people on here but then again, if they are shy they might be hard to spot :D Making requests for other writer's stories is a two-edged sword as there is nothing to stop some chaotic-minded member requesting reviews for all the most terrible stories they could find.

I don't see much wrong with requesting reviews for a high-quality or cool story instead of their own though - that way each site member still only gets one request and if they want to use it for someone else's story instead of one of their own that is very nice of them and if they have evil intent it limits the trouble they can cause (people can always ignore them or give the crappy story a scathing review). Let me sit on this over the weekend but perhaps requesting a review for ANY story, not just your own might work. I'd rather only mods can make multiple review requests though to prevent chaos (unless a mod goes mental and does strange stuff. It has happened before :) ).

The Review Club

Yeah no problem, and ultimately I don't consider it that big a deal since if people don't feel inclined to make recommendations for reviews outside the club they probably won't start now. The final few reviews of mine last year was basically just RK throwing stuff my way since nobody else had anything.

The Review Club

Sounds like you should make some requests. :D

The Review Club

I would like to request a review of Laconia by Cavus.

The Review Club

I'm down for it so a mod can update my waiting list. I'll do Betarune tomorrow probably and then Laconia next time I find the time.

EDIT: Didn't realize Betarune's 26k puts it at 6/8 length. Doesn't make a difference to me since that's still fairly short.

The Review Club

Ok doke. I need to read The Laconia Incident at some point too actually :)

The Review Club

:)

The Review Club

The Laconia Indicent review is done. It ended up being one of those games I rated higher than its current average. My favorite ending would be a toss up between Pacifist and Literary. Despite me not being that into historical fiction that side of the game worked better for me overall on a personal level while the Lovecraft and Indiana Jones branches felt a bit too detached from the initial premise. (That's just a side thing that wasn't accounted for with the review since it's purely personal preference on my side)

The Review Club

The Review Club

The bobby mess was funny and the other one might have been a misclick though admittedly I haven't been in the best of moods this week (Sick bleh). I have weird taste for example I find "Fragrant Flower Blooms with Diginity" to be a boring slog but on the other hand I unironically enjoy "Rent a Girlfriend".

The Review Club

Oh, another warden. You have been here for five years yet I have more commendations シ

The Review Club

Ok doke, I hope everyone had a good weekend :D Here are some review requests for the coming week:

Before the Pattern Breaks by roseyanover (taken)

Chivalry by Fluxion (taken)

A City Lost by MrAce321

Constellaris Court by Mystic Warrior

The Cult by Ogre11

Polaris by MadHattersDaughter (taken)

Yet Another World-Ending Scenario by Fresh out of the oven (I know but it is on MHD's list - this is for Fabrikant, who is completing the list alphabetically, so I can request a review of a story that he hasn't already read). (taken)

I know people are very busy and the first set of deadlines are due next week so make sure not to take on too much but these are all excellent stories and please do review what you can (any left over that I haven't reviewed already I'll take on Thursday).

Also, following feedback we'll amend how The Review Club works a little. Site members can now request a review for ANY story - not just one they have written - but requests are still limited to one per site member. Most review requests seem to be for any reviewer but if you request a review of a specific story that is not your own from a specific reviewer that person has the right to refuse (that way you can't force them to troll through a 30,000 word tract on foot fungus written in Ancient Greek or something like that). If you request a specific reviewer to read one of your own stories though that reviewer should still do so.

If anyone has any problems or questions feel free to message or pm me, if there is any story you want to request reviews for, feel free and please do keep telling me when you finish reviews so I can keep awarding increasing amounts of points to dedicated readers and reviewers :D

Nix the Camp Massacre games, they were taken off MHD's list on suspicion of AI usage. (Allegations which the author never responded to, so they remain in limbo.)

The Review Club

Thanks, they are gone. Do you know about Reeseyb14's other game, Choices of the Heart?

The Review Club

I'm confused - is there another list for MHD's contest? Because on the one I'm using, two of the Camp Massacre storygames are still on it.

The Review Club

Same. My understanding is they are still waiting on a response from the author re suspected AI usage before MHD takes them off the list? But let's not review them in case they are AI because no one wants to spend their free time reading the computer-generated equivalent of Mad Libs :D

Haven't read the others yet, though I am sure you phrased it more positively :) It's really a bit of a shame. The idea could have made a fantastic game. Normally that would inspire me to try something like that myself, but I know I could not do that sort of humor.

Given the amendment in the rules, I'll request a review of "Bestest Frend Jane" from Milton. I'd love to see his thoughts on this one. Alright, let's add a few stories to the Reviews Requested list:

A City Lost by MrAce321 (taken)

Constellaris Court by Mystic Warrior (taken)

The Cult by Ogre11 (taken)

Dark Night by Ogre11

Don't get Distracted by Clayfinger (taken)

DRIVE by WizzyCat (taken)

The Drunk Explorer Inn by Ogre11 (taken)

The Duke of Winslow by Darius_Conwright (taken)

Durwood Mansion by TrueParonormal (taken)

As usual any that haven't been picked and that I haven't reviewed already I'll pick up on Thursday (I'm going to be slower than normal on the Reviewing front because I'm on holiday but I'll still be online every day). More importantly deadlines are coming up this week and people need to finish their Requested Reviews (and please tell me!) to avoid Strikes. If someone misses a deadline either I'll supply the missing Review ASAP or, if I've already reviewed it, ask people to take it on. It's not the end of the world if you fail to submit a review on time because life happens but please try to do your best :) Thanks for everyone for the great reviews so far and to Mystic for the fun Leaderboard :D

I'll take something from Ogre, but not sure which one I should start with. I like Ogre.

I should be done with my review of Laconia indicent later today (I want to gather up a few more endings even though it probably won't affect my final opinion). Then I'll do a proper autopsy of Betarune.

The Review Club

The Drunk Explorer Inn is a really well-written collection of fantasy short stories / tales (if I remember right) while Dark Nights is a dystopian story with some clever game mechanics at the start. Both are good fun :D

The Review Club

In that case I'll go with Drunk Explorer Inn. Should be a good palate cleanser and also a fitting place to rest after Betarune goes to town on my liver.

The Review Club

Ok :) I found Betarune unintentionally hilarious but yeah... it's an acquired taste :D

The Review Club

I can totally agree from the few pages I read and how many notes they produced that it can easily fall into one of those "so bad it's good" troll games. This is mostly why I decided to review it later when I have enough time to do it justice.

I'll take Constellaris

Finished and reviewed. LOVED IT.

The Review Club

Thank you, MHD! I'm so glad you loved it. The law book and glossary are normal links disguised as images because the inventory clashed with the background (lots of hours were wasted and it made me hate items). Not to give away any spoilers but some of your suggestions might be implemented in the sequel :)

I'll take The Cult and Don't get Distracted!

Assigned and assigned :)

The Review Club

You've already reviewed "Don't get Distracted," haven't you? I remember you being one of the first to review that story.

The Review Club

Not really a review by my standards. More of a spur of the moment comment.

The Review Club

Ahh, I see. I look forward to reading your more high effort review then. :]

Gimme "A City Lost."

The Review Club

I'll grab DRIVE! I've read Propheteering by Wizzy, so I'm interested to check out another game by him.

The Review Club

Ok, I'm going to grab The Duke of Winslow and Durwood Mansion off of this list, though I probably won't finish them until March. That leaves Dark Night by Ogre11 for anyone who wants it. I'll post a few more review requests on Monday, there have been some amazingly high-quality reviews written this week! A big thank you to people who take the time and effort to read these stories and write such helpful and well-thought-out feedback :D

The Review Club

I'll take Dark Night.

Finished reviewing a Night in Dark Chicago @Will11

The Review Club

Thanks for the review RK. It was quite nice. Maybe someday I will finish my Minion Hunter game, which will provide more context about how so many genres of horror and scifi can sit in the same world.

The Review Club

I'm really glad you liked the review, Anthraxus! It was a good game. I would love to have the additional context provided by Minion Hunter, so I'm excited to read that game whenever it's coming out! Looking forward to it!

The Review Club

Awesome, thanks Clay and RK. :D Just gotta keep an eye on the deadlines now, I think the next one is Ben and Gryphon for the 19th :) Someone's gonna miss one sooner or later, I just know it :D

Finished my review of "A City Lost." I had also finished reviewing "By the Light of Day" but I guess the message must've gotten lost among the other messages in this thread since the main post says that review is still pending for me.

I would like to request a review of my story G-H-O-S-T. Fabrikant has expressed an interest.

Thank you for organizing this!

The Review Club

would you like to join the pool of reviewers as well?

The Review Club

...I'm considering it. I'd like to start reviewing, but this would be jumping in on the deep end.

The Review Club

For this club, you have a month to finish the review, and you also have the freedom to pick up and review stories at your convenience. If you do join, I’d like to recommend you check out Mole by Sherbet! It’s a new game that’s pretty awesome!

The Review Club

The first post seems to imply that storygames can be assigned to reviewers without them choosing them. Is that accurate?

The Review Club

Yep!

The Review Club

Yeah, I don't think it's for me, at least not at this point. I did play & review Mole, though, so
thank you for the suggestion!

The Review Club

Guys, Morgan wants to read a COZY game about a burrowing mole, and there is an open contest prompt still for wholesome woodland critters. Just saying.

The Review Club

There's a--

No, no I don't have time to write a storygame right now. Even if it's about wholesome woodland critters. Including a mole. Somebody please snag that prompt before I give in to temptation, please and thank you.

The Review Club

I'll take that...
And I'm full up! ^-^

The Review Club

I'm not participating in the Review Club, but I'll give you a review, since you've been here for so long and I've barely ever seen you. Plus, people say it's a pretty neat storygame.

The Review Club

Aw, thank you! ^_^

The Review Club

So far, I'm enjoying it. Of course, at first I got the Heaven ending, which was nicely described, but just accepting death is no fun, so I've gone back into the murder mystery.

The Review Club

Finished, although I accidentally screwed up the review and had the first paragraph or two added to the end :/ (oops sorry). But I liked this story. The ending was happy, but the story was tragic. However, the tragedy had a nice catharsis to it, and when I hit "End game" I left feeling glad to have read it. Well done.

Also, the current rating is low. I've seen a lot worse under 5.

The Review Club

Thank you so much for your kind words!

As for the rating, I believe someone with more clout than the average user (*coughEndmastercough*) rated it a 3. I'm just happy that people have since played it and enjoyed it. I don't think it's an amazing work of interactive fiction or anything, but: playable and enjoyable, apparently. I'm glad you did both!

The Review Club

I was wondering about that, and I thought it was probably the "Observe, Remember, Go Somewhere else" thing. That's a fine way to tell a story (and show the world now, the world as you remember, and peel a bit of the onion at a time), but maybe some people felt it was a bit linear. But you still can have alternate endings by choosing to be vindictive about someone accidentally killing you, so for me that's not a problem. All my storygames are mostly linear. I just enjoyed the story.

The Review Club

Happy to take G-H-O-S-T

The Review Club

All 95k of Rainbow-1 done. (Phew!) Excellent game.

And with that I think I will withdraw from the review club for now--I've got a busy month coming up.

Also thanks so much to Will for the review on One Day's Adventure! :) Glad you enjoyed the game.

The Review Club

You read all of it? Wow! Thanks for reviewing it. (Of course this means I now have to add a new branch to it.)

The Review Club

Thank you very much for the detailed and very insightful review. This one really gave me a good few things to work on. (One thing that I didn't expect when writing the story was that nearly everyone decides to jump from a helicopter as their very first action :o)

The Review Club

Glad to hear it's helpful :). Yeah I think there's a certain magnetism from the curiosity factor of putting a suicide choice on the first page. People just think 'well if this kills me I only have to go back one page', which is preferrable to playing the rest of the game not knowing if there's an entire other branch left to explore or not.

(If you don't mind a few questions there were some things I wondered while reading--A) What was the original idea behind this game? B) Which path did you write first? C) Where on earth is that skinwalker ending?? No pressure to any of these.)

The Review Club

Nooooooo and ok, no problem :D So, I've made an Inactive Members List and put you on it (that way people having a break from the review club don't lose their record of progress and have to start again from the beginning) and you're welcome to come back any time you like. Well done for reviewing Rainbow-1 and no problem, I enjoyed your story, I just suck at puzzles :D

I finished my review for The Boy Who Would Be Duke - The Journey to Agincourt. It was a great read and a fun one to do a write-up for due to the historical setting! My review style leans a little more technical/fundamental, but hopefully the author finds that helpful. To make sure I'm allocating enough time for the prompt contest, I'll wait until the start of April to take on the next review.

The Review Club

Finally finished the review of As Ink, @Will11

The Review Club

Lol, I also just realized that I took 2 storygames of length 6-8. Onto reviewing the second one!

The Review Club

Well done :D Your review looks really good (I like the way you break down the different aspects of the story) and I'm glad you enjoyed it on the whole - I'm planing on reading As Ink soon as well! And whoops, sorry about that! If you're sure you're ok reviewing two long stories that's good, I'll try to keep an eye out for that.

Edit: And I've just noticed I've taken on three long stories to review :) I'm confident I'll manage though.

The Review Club

I'm certainly glad I decided to work on both at once. I'm done with the Legend of the Folklore Fish. It was surprisingly short, though, even with the two perspectives. Are there any open requests?

The Review Club

UD, if you'd like, I'll request that you check out and review one of End's stories, Death song.

Traditionally, it's best paired with Necromancer.

So I'll request that you read and check out Death Song, and Necromancer if you have enough time to handle 2 6/8 stories.

The Review Club

I'll do so, thanks for the suggestion! I have read a good chunk of Eternal within two days, so I don't think it'll be too much trouble, lol.

The Review Club

Nice! I'm really excited to see what you think of them. They both are stories told from 2 different perspectives, but are centered around the same world events.

The Review Club

Tough Taskmaster RK :D Ok, I'll update that UD is reading those 2 :)

The Review Club

@Will11 I've finished the review of Necromancer; Onto Death Song!

The Review Club

Man, I sure can tell you're autistic. That is more numbers than words.

The Review Club

Well done :D It's surprisingly critical but very thorough, great work :)

The Review Club

yesterday

Lol, I think my review of Legend of the Folklore Fish was more in-depth than this, but okay.

The Review Club

yesterday
Damn that shows how much taste can very. Necromancer is probably my favorite all time story here. It just has this hard to define charm to me.

The Review Club

yesterday
Yeah, honestly I would've liked him to elaborate a little on his thoughts beyond "it's a story, it exists, here are some numbers. 3/8". Cavus losing his mind over Rogues for instance was a great read even if most of us enjoyed the game much more than he did.

I mean nobody is compelled to justify any rating, but desire to do so does seem like a big part of the point of being in a review club. (It's not JUST about climbing the tier system, right?)

The Review Club

yesterday
Thank you for convincing me to check out Cavus's review of Rogues, I laughed out loud.

The Review Club

yesterday
He definitely writes some entertaining reviews.

The Review Club

yesterday

I might go back and redo it with more detail later. I didn't really have any major glaring gripes tbh, it was just a really "meh" story that probably went on slightly too long. It did get better over time, though, so that counterbalances the length, imho.

Edit: I also didn't have any major praise for it either, tbf. Looking back, I probably could have been more thorough and kinder to it, but what's done is done. I'm trying to do better with Death Song.

The Review Club

Thanks Cat, you're really flying through those reviews atm! :D Reminds me of last summer's reading competition :)

The Review Club

I feel really bad saying it, but The Lost Emperor took me much longer to get through, unfortunately.

Oh...just reviewed Error: Name Not Found too.

(I don't know if it's better to tag you or not, but I seem to recall reading a post where you said to tag, so...@Will11).

The Review Club

Hm? You already reviewed The Lost Emperor, you wrote a review that was featured on 17 Feb :) If you've finished Error you only have Ogre's Dark Night to review which isn't due until 19 March. I'll update the OP and give you your bonus points now :D

The Review Club

Oh, I meant I would have been done with those three reviews earlier if The Lost Emperor hadn't taken me longer to read. Hopefully, that makes more sense.

The Review Club

Ah, don't worry about it :) The important thing is to try to finish reviews before the deadlines so writers can get feedback :D Your reviews are all really good and it's really great to see so many people submitting so many high-quality reviews generally :D

End of the World as You Know It by DBNB (taken)

Autopsy/review of Berature is done. It's actually the longest review I've posted so far, beating Rogues by just under 50 words. Is it deserving of its status and acclaim as a meme? Definitely, but it still makes me want to smack the author for the damage he has brought upon my liver and the yacht my therapist will buy after giving me my bill.

The Review Club

Ngl your review made me actually start reading the story.

The Review Club

I'm honestly not sure if this is a success or utter failure on my part so either you're welcome or my sincerest apologies.

The Review Club

Perhaps both are in order, who can say? lol.

"You can't help but have butterflies in his stomach while he drives to Yuri's house, even though you've been to Yuri's place a dozen times before."

The Review Club

We'll see if you last until the "This... is sus."

The Review Club

I completed it, but I don't recall reading that line. Perhaps I'll look again. There's a chance I spaced out. Then again, maybe it's only in one branch.

The Review Club

It's only part of the full quote, but it is in fact in multiple branches or rather it's at the point where the majority of the branches merge. The easiest way to get it is to fail at anything at any point.

Edit: I see you got the Diary epilogue which means you most likely saw it but there is one path to that ending that skips this particular line for a different kind of retardation.

The Review Club

Oh. Then perhaps I'll go back and shoot the woman and child. It's the least I can do to put them out of their misery, living in such a horrific world.

I'll take the compliment, but the two games I currently have published fall under "decent, but nothing exceptional" and "troll game" so keep your expectations tempered.

The Review Club

That's unfortunate. I'm still a novice, barely able to be called a writer, as I've forgotten much of the skill I once had, but I have a lot of free-time to improve.

The Review Club

The Review Club

It goes without saying but I accept this request!

The Review Club

Is there anyway I can ask for a review of Fleeing the Forest from you? I know you have two deadlines and a review to get on, so if you are willing to accept I would ask that you please take care of MHD's review and your irl obligations before fulfilling mine.

The Review Club

I could put it on my waiting list (assuming that's how it works?) to review right after MHD's story. Oh, right, the deadlines, I better log off before I get more distracted.

The Review Club

Yes, please. I do believe it goes on your waiting list only if you have three active review requests. Since you only have one on there, it would go on your active review list, which would make the deadline March 30, 2026. Best of luck with your projects!

The Review Club

Yep, that's all correct :) The waiting list is just there if people have 3 active review requests but people still want to keep them working and line up future requests :D

The Review Club

Question: what happens when we complete a review that's not on the assigned list? I'm still gonna get orange's storygame before St. Patty's Day but I took a break from writing my contest entry to do a quick review of SU's new Dino game for the contest.

The Review Club

yesterday

I'm pretty sure that's just being a normal CYStian lol. It defeats the purpose of the club (and creates more work for Will) if we were to get points for every few paragraphs review of stories we choose to read.

The Review Club

yesterday
I was just coming here to comment on the qualiry of the Review Club really taking a dive, between the people obviously barely skimming games and now other people bragging about giving spite ratings, but looks like this one was at least done as an extracurricular thing.

The Review Club

yesterday
Who's skimming?

Personally I take pride in reading everything I can find. (If I can't find something, that is on my idiocy, though.)

The Review Club

I think somebody's skimming. Not you though, don't worry

The Review Club

To be fair, we're not all going to write Mystic/Darius level reviews. Even Mystic's article on reviews acknowledge that a couple of paragraphs are perfectly serviceable.

The Review Club

Well, it's not a serious enough issue to be naming names, but while it's true there are no major standards for on topic reviews honestly given, you guys are all little performing monkeys here chasing the dopamine of a tier system. People do weird things under these circumstances and it shouldn't akways be rewarded. It's like how we sometimes get ultrafags who rate all the games for the trophy without even reading them, completely defeats the purpose.

The Review Club

Reminds me of daiki... good times...

The Review Club

I think Daiki was busted for using AI reviews though.

The Review Club

Oh, I was just talking about people who get too into the points stuff that they start cutting corners. Daiki was the most egregious example of that that I could remember. I'm not even sure that he read the stories he reviewed.

The Review Club

Doubt it. From what I understand, he took all the other featured reviews and ran them into an AI to generate a newer review that was basically a mashup of all the real ones.

The Review Club

I got into victory last year. No corners cut other than reading short stories quickly to inflate my review count at the last second so the leader in the smaller contests would get complacent. But it was all for naught, because I got betrayed Game of Thrones style and sent to a less successful team. Still got a trophy though, so I suppose everything worked out.

The Review Club

Oh sorry. I meant "who is daiki?"

The Review Club

Why did you have to bring me into this?

You're misconstruing my words. The article said, "Before I begin, I’ll preface with this: any comment, including short ones, are valued by authors and the community. Some writers are so starved for feedback that any modicum of effort is appreciated. But if you’re looking to earn those gold stars, commendations and the glorious ‘Avon’ title, then this is the guide for you."

Basically, short reviews are fine (especially back when we had more of a review drought in past years, which is what this article had in mind), but don't expect to get them featured and more importantly, don't expect anyone to give you a prize for it.

Maybe the recent events regarding what makes a storygame commendable are still on my mind, but another thing I don't like is when a person writes a review declaring a story to be good or bad, yet have barely read through it/ only skimmed through. Of course mods usually read a story for themselves before deciding whether to commend it, but overly negative reviews for no reason (and overly positive ones as well) could give potential readers a false impression of the game, whether that's thinking it's better than it is and having their expectations unmet, or worse than it is and staying clear. This is especially true when a story doesn't have many reviews at first. Though I guess it would be clear to the author when a review doesn't tackle the key parts of their game and sticks to what can be found on the first few pages.

Of course skimming would always be a problem and I suppose if I had to choose, writing a comment partway through a game, especially a challenging one, would be a good way to give an author feedback even if the reader hasn't completed the full story. But personally I feel readers ought to be honest about if they skimmed parts so the author can work on making those sections more engaging.

And I can understand not being rewarded. Commendations aren't exactly just handed out for anything (or at least, they're not supposed to be) and are generally for comments that are lengthy, detailed, well-rounded, cover parts of the story that other commentators haven't or cover them from a different angle. I don't see anywhere in the conversation where I mentioned rewards. I never mention commendations, gold stars, or the "of Avon" title. Simply that a comment can be serviceable, as in of use, with a couple of paragraphs. Which is why, yes, when I mentioned your article, I was referring to the first part of the paragraph you referenced. Because I thought Will's requirements for a review in the original posting he made were specifically:

"Reviewers pledge to complete a requested review within 4 weeks of assignment to a decent standard and can have up to 3 active requests at a time." I was trying to point out that a review that offers well-rounded feedback such as positives and negatives, game errors such as SPAG or loops, ect. would be considered decent or serviceable.

Mizal made a comment about people skimming or bragging about ratings bombing as an extracurricular (which would in itself indicate the lack of reward). I responded by trying to point out that a review that is a couple paragraphs long isn't exactly skimming or ratings bombing. I'm sure the part of my comment where I threw shade at SO is probably where the ratings bombing comment came from, but that was honestly just meant to troll SO for making comments that had nothing to do with the story. SU still would have gotten a four regardless, since while his story was good for a beginner (better than my own first story) it still didn't really click for me or have any type of deeper plot line, character engagement, ect. Even the world building felt like a dime store Jurassic park. But the effort put into it and the original idea of having a content streamer be the MC was definitely something I had to give credit to (and those two positives are things I mentioned in my game review, which carried a mix of both positive and negative feedback).

And yeah, I agree that a reader should be honest about if they didn't read the full story, which is why in my reviews I tend to explicitly state which branches I read and if I can't go farther into the story because it doesn't hold my interest, then I tend to say that.

>>and in part due to SoecialOlympic's desperation rivaling that of a paraplegic prostitute in the comments section

It probably backfired on you a little that this comment revived memories of your 3000 words of desperate slobbering over Fresh, people who live in glass houses and all. (but I can't really complain about that part, rereading all that was a good time.) But also, yes, kind of in poor taste to imply you're giving someone a lower rating because of something someone else said. Whatever competetiveness is on the forum shouldn't be spilling over to anyone's writing, and we don't need to imply to genuinely promising new authors that that is normal or approved either.

And even the "compared to the previous game" part, to me anyway every game should be judged on its own merits, we don't have a sliding scale for each author.

Anyway, SO triggered two people with four words, y'all need thicker skins. The people getting ruffled by SU's "attitude" need to get over it too, you little snowflakes never could've survived the Steve era lol.
