Contrary to popular belief, I actually get along fine with most CoGites over there. This is horrible, to re-iterate. The so-called "Variable" had no worth, as all the links that killed me killed me instantly. You clearly put no effort into this piece of shit. Honestly, I read all of these people's migrating to twitch WIPs and there are a couple of repeating patterns:
- Very woke, RO's with swappable gender except for one that's nonbinary to make a point and who are central to the main plot. Bonus point for a conversation about transition and gender where you can be nothing but supportive.
- Very... angsty. Self-harm, depression, alcoholism, dark themes but not *problematic* themes
- Don't like giving MC too much input, frequently wrestle control from the player - bonus point for unskippable mental breakdowns
- The MC is usually incompetent despite stats or informed competence - Romance-focused Unsurprisingly, most of them are friends on Tumblr. I'm always happy when trash takes itself out.

Like, when I published POF on here and posted the link on CoG, they literally deleted the thread the second I posted it and gave some bullshit excuse of "it may or may not contain offensive material, but we can't be bothered to read it, or to check with anybody who did read it to find out." ... I think CoG just literally wants to take over the entire IF community and silence anyone who uses any other kind of platform so that as few people as possible know that there's anywhere else to go. :p

Okay, now I'm confused. I thought the WIP was from someone who was banned on CoG, hence why people felt the need to White Knight them... But the author isn't banned at all, so... Why the White Knighting? If a review upset the author, then they could've just said so themselves... I don't know. Personally I'd be really annoyed if somebody gave one of my games a negative review and some rando felt the need to dive in and start defending me, assuming that I'm some paper-mache doll that would implode at even the slightest hint of criticism. >.<
Had a brief read through of the game and I get where all the confused people are coming from. Some pretty, descriptive imagery is nice and all, but when your whole game is pretty, descriptive imagery, it's really hard to tell what's actually going on. Like, how much of what's going on is metaphorical and how much is actually real? It's genuinely hard to tell.
Like, for the first chapter I was like, "Okay, what the fuck is happening?" Then by the second chapter I went, "Oh! I get it! It was a dream! It was supposed to be confusing. Now things will start to make sense." ... They did not. :p
Looking back on the thread, I think that the "h-slur" they're referring too is "hermaphrodite" ... Which was only used in a direct quote from something they said, which suggested that they have absolutely no idea what that word means considering they refer to it as "transphobic" ... I mean, I'm pretty sure it's a case of people trying to take an inoffensive word and make it offensive, but even if it was offensive, calling the word "hermaphrodite" transphobic would be like calling the n word sexist. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. >.<

It's incredible how much drama the various interactive fiction communities can produce.
