Okay, we're going to try something a little different this time. This is not a contest where we convince you guys to commit to writing a story that judges then have to (ugh) read and think about and all that tedious nonsense, assuming you even really write it in the first place. (Most of you don't.)
What's happening instead is that we're breaking the next month up into four week-long segments:
June 1-7th
June 8-14th
June 15-21st
June 22-28th.
For each of those weeks, you are to hit the storygames lists and Creative Corner and review your little hearts out. In essence this is four mini-contests to see who can show the most love to fellow authors. 300 word minimum for a review to qualify, and scoring goes as follows:
5/8 length or over - 3 points
4/8 length or less - 2 points
Forum short story - 2 point
To participate, make a post to track your progress in response to the post I make just below this one. Include a link to each thing you review that week and the number of points it's worth. Yes, you must track your own progress and keep your own scores for it to count. No, do not attempt any fuckery here, someone else will bring it to my attention and I will reward them an extra two points for snitching and harshly punish you.
Any reviews that contain any obvious or directly referenced padding for the sake of meeting the word count will be disqualified.
At the end of each segment I'll check the tallies and the winner will receive site points double the amount of whatever their total for that week is. This is a chance to rack up an insane amount of points (i.e. value as a human being) in a short amount of time. You'll also obviously have whatever points you get automatically from the storygames as well as commendations.
Good luck!
