Anyway, there clearly is a need for this. While this is opinion based seeing as I'm "one of them transsexual queer god-opposin' alphabet folk" (See, this is funny because I happen to be a non-denominational christian as well.)I have cited several sources and can easily find more.

The difference between gender and sex can be summed up fairly easily in the form of intrinsic knowledge. Mizal already gave a fairly good example, but I'd like to give one of my own.

You wake up on a Monday morning and head to work. You get to work and realize the pants you put on are the really, really itchy ones that drive you half crazy. These are the pants your mother gave you, these are the pants you were born with and forced to wear. But they're itchy. They're uncomfortable. They're pink and covered in sequins and you hate those things. "Well," your mother asks, "how on earth could you KNOW you hate those things? Maybe you just need to get used to them." All the people at work laugh at you when you don't wear those pants. They ask you if you're some kind of freak who prefers plaid even though you were born with sequins. You resolve to go out after work and buy jeans. You find a pair that fits you perfectly. You love these jeans. They feel so much better. But when you go to work, everyone starts throwing their pencils at you for wearing jeans. "No," they say, "You were born with pink sparkly pants! You can't change that just because you feel like it!"

In the spirit of the metaphor, there are so many types of pants, and some of them may not fit you as well as others. It's the same with gender.

Sex is more like the eye color in this situation. Sex is biological, the parts you have. Most people have a cock or a cooch. Some rare people have both, none, or a weird combination. Tits vs. no tits, testosterone & estrogen levels, these are all based on Sex.

Trans people have a mental condition where they genuinely feel like they're trapped in the wrong body. They can't help it, and it can cause them severe anxiety and depression.

I know you're never going to be convinced to think of it as normal so think of it like this. Do you know anyone who suffers delusions, maybe an elderly relative? They really, truly believe what that believe, and you can't logic them out of it by arguing or being angry at them, that kind of thing can only cause additional distress. That it was a ruling of any kind at all, final or otherwise, is disgusting,. There is zero room for "that's okay, it's not final." Besides, if I understand Shia, you follow marja. You don't seem to understand the criticism. The issue is that KHOMEINI is the one who said it is perfectly permissible for a man to molest an infant. Khomeini does not speak for all Muslims, so you can't credibly say it's about the religion (though I'm assuming as a "true believer" of the Iranian authority you believe he and his successor speak for Allah himself). As mentioned above, not even every Muslim accepts all Hadith, including Aisha's age at marriage and consummation. There are plenty who do not, and it is NOT written in the Quran. If those statements come with proper evidence and sources, and can be logically examined and verified, I will gladly accept them. You point out people with sexual disorders ought to be treated. True! Currently, there has been no successful program for psychologically curing “gender dysphoria”. No therapeutic technique has ever consistently worked. But, it has been repeatedly found in scientific studies that trans people’s quality of life improves dramatically when they transition. In the absence of working therapeutic solutions, why is physical transition not an acceptable next-best option?

To address another of your points: some mainstream religious organizations do recognize trans people. The two christian churches I attend welcome trans people.

I would like to know what you believe treatment entails? Because psychologists do not have any kind of sorcerous solution for this that doesn't acknowledge the interiority of the person, which is a different gender than what aligns with the sex of their corpus. Therapy really doesn't make these things go away. For my own reasons, not related to transgenderism, I have studied what therapy is for and even spoken with therapists extensively. Therapy and "treatment" cannot make you want different things in life, and it can't make desires go away. The very best it can do in regards to the punitive way you have suggested applying it, is to try and convince you to reframe how you feel about your goals or dreams being unnacceptable, and show you how to pretend to be normal. If you're very lucky, it can direct your attention to a different desire you have, and you can then focus hard enough on whatever the "Acceptable" thing is that this gender query is less of an objection in your life. But it's never cured, it doesn't go away. If you want something bad enough that you don't care about being "normal", there is frankly no point to going to a psychologist. You may as well be telling the extra-fingered person of your analogy to bite the thing off themselves, which is a solution suggested by 0 doctors worth their salt. As is the case for trans people, there are plenty of people with polydactyly (the multi-fingered condition you've described) who never really needed intervention as the digit did not impede the structure or functional reliability of their hands or feet. Antonio Alfonseco certainly didn't need his additional fingers removed to be a Major League Baseball pitcher, a position where the dexterity of the hands is very important. It's a whole spectrum that depends on the individual person and their needs, but we're getting ahead of ourselves. The point of it all is, if a person's unusual aspirations could simply be removed by a person checking into some anti-woke medical practitioner's office, you wouldn't be hearing about people not being trans or gay anymore-- The real benefit they would provide to society would be for reprobates like Celicni who would finally be able to get their pedophilia removed, but unfortunately people like that respond quite poorly to any treatment we've yet to devise. The human being simply doesn't work like that. You can't eliminate desire, you can only decide not to care about it and focus on something else, and sometimes it will wither in the absence of attention, very often it will not, and frequently this leads to the patient bottling up other emotions until they no longer can, and lash out at themselves or others.

There currently are, and historically have been, plenty of socially accepted examples where someone's desired social role does not match their biology. I should hope that your beliefs are not so stringent as to posit that an adoptive parent is not a real mother or father, just because their genitals aren't the same ones that caused the child to exist. If we want to dig into religions that accept certain aspects of these things, one need look no further than the Dharmic religions of India, which have their own members of society that are recognized as another valid gender. Though in function they are ostracised in many respects, this is true of many social classes in Hindu regions that practice the same roles prescribed to their genitals, and, from a historical perspective, the conditions and treatment of certain castes within Hinduism is not as set in stone as some portray it as. The Hijra are not exactly the same as transgender persons, but their existence, as people who were born one way and wish for a social role more aligned with the opposite, speaks to a common instinct that manifests across cultures and conditions. Though many are discouraged from exploring this aspect of themselves because the Hijra are ostracised and live in poverty, they are still recognized as a gender unto themselves, and a Hijra is never denied being a Hijra except by recent political interest groups who are trying to control the narrative and establish a uniform opinion on how it is acceptable to be. Native American and Asian religions, while this is not universal across all regions, still have notable exceptions for a person whose personal identity and desires for what kind of life they want to live, do not match what is ordained by immediate bioogical circumstance. And I am aware of at least a handful of examples in European history where this is also the case.

In much of medieval pagan Scandinavia, magic and certain forms of worship were considered gendered practices. In Iceland, it was considered a male thing, in the much larger region of the Baltic, it was considered a female thing. Priests of the Norse/Germanic gods were considered begrudgingly necessary queers, because they were men who had learned the magic of women and were entitled to wear feminine clothing or jewelry if they deemed it necessary. This isn't even getting into the Gallae in the region of Anatolia, who were priests and priestesses of the goddess Cybele. They have roots as far back as ancient Greece, and their religious practices became hugely important to the Roman state in that area for a long time. These folks were usually born men, but being allowed to dress and be treated as women, as well as primitive surgical intervention, was normalized.

But everything I just said, that's all non-abrahamic stuff. I'm assuming somebody of your persuasion would cast it out as pagan nonsense. It still refutes your claim that no society or religion has accepted these people. But let's get into examples of gender shenanigans of countries that primarily recognize Christianity and Islam. In Napoly, Italy, there is a traditional gender role called "Femminiello", which is a word that translates about as literally to "Femboy [non-derogatory]" as is possible to do. This gender has coexisted with Christianity even since the height of witch-burnings, the execution of homosexuals, and other institutional hate crimes by the church which controlled the region. They were and sometimes still are recognized as a real thing, and to be one was a decision made by the person themselves regarding what they wanted their gender to be. There were certain social factors regarding who was more likely to be accepted as/taught how to be a femminiello (usually they had to be a younger brother, because due to prevailing family politics at the time the family would have considerable disadvantage from not having a firstborn son) but fundamentally a man still chose to be one or didn't. If someone born under the conditions where they may have been encouraged to be femminiello decided to be a man, there was no pushback. If somebody born under more masculine circumstances decided that they were femminiello, they were still treated as such, the main pushback was in the form of an increase in mistreatment, violence from men, and various sexual wrongs, which women generally face in society, and trans women especially face because they are treated as a part of the same social class as women with none of the protections. As of the 1930s, many femminiello did decide that the newly developed labels of transgender or transsexual did describe them better, but the 1930s was when Fascism had arrived in europe and gave individuals with vested interest in controlling what people were allowed to think and do with their bodies absurd political power, so their perspective has largely been very intentionally censored from history. For an example of things in the opposite direction, in rural parts of Albania as well as several other Balkan states, a person born a woman can swear to remain a virgin all their life, and in exchange for this, be recognized for all intents and purposes as a man. These folks have coexisted with Christianity and Islam since they existed in the area, and only moral busybodies who don't know them but wish to control their bodies have seen any contradiction.

Personally speaking here, I don't believe that a woman who can't bear children for any reason isn't still a woman. A woman is a category we made up to cover a wide variety of things that are not arbitrarily tied to biological functions. Neither do I believe that a man who is celibate or has erectile dysfunction is not a man, or that someone with dwarfism isn't human, simply because they can't do certain things that are expected from someone in that category. I am led to believe Islam has differing opinions on that matter, but that's a different discussion. Nor do I think it's some cosmic binary truth literally written in our genes, because there are all sorts of factors at play there. Many women have a Y chromosome, or only just one X like both sexes have, and will possibly never know it unless it's one of the instances where it causes a medical problem. Most people literally do not know for certain which chromosomes they have, because this is not tested for unless babies are born with an obvious condition. Our assigned sex at birth is based on the doctor's best guess based on what our parts look like. They may be right most of the time, but in cases where the parts are ambiguous, (usually due to hormones caused by any number of factors in the womb, not strictly genetics) the baby is given a cosmetic procedure based on whichever one of the parts the doctor determines is the most structurally sound, and hopefully nothing unusual comes of it. That's not always the case! And really, there isn't anything that physically forces someone with one sex or another to be a certain way, or there wouldn't be men who cry at the end of romantic movies or women who wear pants or drive cars or use tools or-- Nevermind I don't know if women are allowed to do that over there either.

Regardless, I don't believe there is any inherent magical power in wearing clothes or doing certain jobs, I don't think there's any inherent binding rules surrounding names or pronouns or any such thing, or we wouldn't have nicknames or personal names at all. I simply don't care if somebody wants to be a man or woman, that's their fundamental right to decide. To deny that is to deny that person something fundamentally human. Even within the bounds of the gender they are given by tradition, people dress certain ways and act and speak certain ways, not just for practical purposes, but because it expresses important things about where they are in life and how they desire to be treated by others. People get procedures or take medicine to regrow lost hair, or remove unwanted hair, or take hormones so that they may continue to ovulate or maintain erections, and nobody questions it because by coincidence the things these people are doing just happen to align with the pairing of social roles and sex organs that is currently deemed acceptable. I am willing to bet that you clean yourself a little more often than is strictly necessary for survival or keeping up appearances, because your self-image would suffer if you did not. There is no fundamental difference, in mind or in practice, between that and someone who wants to dress and has interest in work or expression of a gender that does not match their organs. I would feel uncomfortable wearing a robe in public, many people feel uncomfortable not wearing one. I was told I was a man since I was born, and luckily they guessed correctly, I would feel very uncomfortable in a dress, but a lot of people being told the same thing would feel just as uncomfortable in my clothes. Why, I would even feel uncomfortable in another man's clothes! And even if you're a true ascetic who would dismiss ALL of that as vanity, people exercise their bodies and develop skills, relationships, and knowledge, not because they inherently know those things or are already strong, but because they identify as a person who needs and deserves health, strength, and wisdom. Every human being is trying to become a different, more ideal version of themselves, the only people who aren't growing and changing are the dead. And if part of someone's journey is to be another gender than what their sex is, that's not mine to question. I only know that I despise to see what could be a sycamore tree bound and clipped because only bonsai trees will fit in the house.

It's a bit more complicated than this. (And this isn't even a political statement). It is quite common for men to have some cells with double X chromosomes. There are quite common endocrinological problems that can give you a female morphology even if you have Y chromosome (and vice versa). And this is isn't even talking about rare stuff like trisomie or rarer ontogenetic screwups. Just sayin'.

Okay, so how this generally works is that "sex" (as in the designation, not the act) refers to male or female in the biological sense.
While "gender" is what someone mentally identifies as, which affects how they dress and act and present themselves in public and the way it's polite to refer to them.

There is not always or even most of the time surgery involved the way you seem to be imagining. (You think people can afford medical procedures in America???) Surgery is more of an extreme, people can be trans without that.

I guess think of it like this, say you woke up tomorrow in an alternate reality where you were a white guy who everyone thought was French. You would know, internally, that you were Iranian, and it would feel really wrong for you every time your looked in a mirror, and to have people making baguette jokes or expecting you to act like a snob and dress like a faggot, and to constantly refer to you as "that weird French guy."

So that's basically how it is for trans people, they just "know" they're a different gender than the one everyone thinks they are and treats them as by default, and it feels wrong and uncomfortable for them and in a lot of cases causes genuine mental distress. So even if you think the whole thing is weird and don't agree, it's still the polite thing to do to at least use the preferred pronouns to make somebody feel more comfortable. And you might try looking up gender dysphoria for an explanation of the actual mental effects.

How difficult it has become to understand the truth in this new world full of corruption — but I understand now, thank you.

The LGBT hate was actually popularized by Ratzinger when he became pope. Ratzinger had long argued that anti-arbortion was not a good selling point anymore. Once the American evangelicals had got together and figured out that anti-abortion is basically the only thing they can agree on, it was only a question of time before it stopped being cool. So when Ratzinger became pope the catholic church stated spending big money to push an anti-LGBT agenda. He hit a goldmine and then the whole right tried to outdo themselves. In the past election cycle the Republicans alons spent $215M to push anti-trans messaging, so over $100 per actual trans person in the US.

In the long run yes, but the short term goal is to stay relevant in the politics. Ratzinger is from Germany, which is in a weird middle ground. A majority of people are technically Christian, but nearly nobody is actually practising the religion, and fewer people actually belief in it in any relevant way. Still the church gets a say in discussions because they are still seen as a moral authority, though more and more people are starting to question why. Due to this socialization the need to stay relevant was very prominent in his thinking.

But this is a general pattern: Suppose you want a lot of power. The easiest way to get it is the narrative: 1. We are great. 2. But there are some awful people who undermine everything that is good. 3. We must fight back, here I will lead, give me the power.

For this narrative to work you need an enemy. Trans people are fantastic for that because they can't actually fight back. For the Nazi's it started with Jews then everybody else. In the cold war it was "communists" for most western governments. So the newest thing is trans-people, at least the global right wing settled on this after they found gay people more broadly can fight back, and hating pedofiles went out of fashion because of this whole Trump-Epstein thing. So from where I am standing your country is incredibly similar to the US in this way: Right wing people in power need to beat up trans kids to make sure they stay in power.

The real problem is that the whole right wing system is so nicely self-sustaining. Look at Israel, nobody would vote for Netanyaho, he has done so much harm to Israel, but oh no people must unite behind him because of the threat from Hamas. Yes, Christianity is now a completely secular religion and doesn't have strong foundations (a distorted religion (not an insult, but a fact), and no one feels the need to practice it. It's merely used as a break in this modern, fast-paced world. (And the same thing is happening with Islam.)

Unfortunately, the mindset that the majority of Iranians abroad have (we communicate with most of them through cyberspace) is that they believe in overthrowing the current Islamic Republic system, and this may be due to their democratic thoughts (and other reasons (nothing much comes to mind right now because I'm fasting)), and I haven't seen much of them in person.

I think learning about other cultures is an admirable goal, and admire your willingness to engage with others despite the extra work translation involves. I do want to raise two points:

1) CYS is not an accurate representation of Western society. It's certainly a subculture made up of mostly westerners, but it's completely unique from the many other western cultures I've moved through. So things you learn about this site are not necessarily generalizable to the West as a whole.
2) I would like to encourage you to allow yourself to be exposed to and try to understand other viewpoints you disagree with. You mention being afraid they might creep into your subconscious. Certainly art can do this, but reading with a critical and thoughtful perspective can be used to make the impact art has on you conscious rather than subconscious, and then it's up to you how you reason about it. Exposing yourself to understanding viewpoints you disagree with more often has good outcomes: either you realize you were wrong about some things and integrate your new understanding with your own beliefs to be more accurate. Or, you decide you were right all along but you've gained a better understanding of other's arguments, their psychology, why they believe what they believe, and you have a more wise & nuanced understanding of your own beliefs & the truth as a result.

I already knew this. This place is mostly made up of writers who are likely above the rest of society in terms of their level of discourse, the number of words they use, the concepts behind them, and the time invested in them. Therefore, the analyses they make of Western society hold greater value for study. (But you are all still infidels, so no, this is not a compliment.)
That's right, and during my time on this site so far, I have been exposed to various viewpoints, accepting some (in fact, very few) and rejecting many, responding to them with my own reasoning.
I always like to read stories with critical thinking, and sometimes I manage to do so. But I usually prefer to immerse myself in a story and empathize with it (especially since this is interactive). For this reason, I approach stories with themes that might shake the foundations of my thinking with caution. I won't jump into the sea until I've learned to swim.
It is precisely for this reason that I started discussing and studying on this site. For more than two months (more?), I was only reading stories on this site and never even entered the forums, nor did I care to, because I thought there was probably nothing there for me. But then, I saw a message from Fluxion who had used the Islamic Revolution of Iran as an example (this part is for future researchers who will probably want to gather information about me to better understand me in order to give me a more destructive response), and that's where I started discussing. And so far, I am satisfied with the discussions that have taken place.

You may not be aware, but Christians have very little reason to have any issue with gay or trans people, they put such a huge focus on it because of cultural manipulation by politicians. It's literally just to make them not notice that conservative Christians are a massive voting bloc being pointed angrily at the weird glittery minority as a distraction from all the corruption and much bigger things actually going on with the billionaires running the country.

Biblical mention of the gays is really just limited to Leviticus, which was basically a handbook for Hebrew priests full of things that Christians dismiss as weird ancient Jewish stuff that doesn't apply to anybody today, and then a couple of mentions in the letters of Paul, who was a Roman citizen and understandably sick of all the gay shit everywhere, but even for him it was nothing like a focus of his teachings.

No mention of trans at all, nobody in the ancient world had the context for that kind of thing as a neurological issue, though trans people have always existed and were just viewed as "eccentric" until it could all be harnessed into A Political Issue much later. I think it's interesting though that what we see as the absolute extreme of expression, genital surgery, nobody in history batted an eye at being done to children without consent when eunuchs were just a fact of their society.

And I don't understand what you mean by "eunuchs." But I know that in the past, "castration" was very common. In this process, men's genitals were cut off so they would lose their sexual desire and could serve in the harems of kings or rulers.

"Eunuch" was the term for people who were castrated for that purpose. It changed a lot of things in their hormonal development but was seen as an acceptable practice in ancient societies, but nobody bringing up "genital mutilation" as a horrible degeneracy of modern society ever seems to acknowledge that it used to be done in a much worse way to people without their consent.

Bestest Frend Jane by IAP. It's a great cross country epic about a 7 year old boy who travels to the Grand Canyon. It's tragic and deals with some heavy themes but I really love the descriptive writing, along with the way that IAP describes the journey the boy takes. It's really moving.

Ground Zero by Endmaster - It's this awesome post apocalyptic tale about a man who survives in the nuclear holocaust in a few different ways depending on the choices you take, and as a result his life changes dramatically. In this game, you could run into mutants, battle cyborgs, conduct full-scale war campaigns through the internet, and a bunch of other stuff that can't possibly be encapsulated in this tiny comment. It's a really cool story.

Blow Your House Down by Bill_Ingersoll - Compared with the other 2 stories listed above, the scope is smaller. This story is locked in a specific series of encounters you have with these 2 suspicious people who are up to no good. Basically, you play as this older man who wants to have a relaxing weekend alone in the wilderness, but then you get these random visitors who are trying to rob you. Also, there's a giant storm coming. There's a lot of endings, so you'll have to backtrack and reroute frequently.

Agent of Order by Mizal - It's a really cool murder mystery set in space. Basically, Among Us several years before Among Us was invented(obviously this is a bit of an oversimplification, but in essence the concept is really original and cool!). You have this space station with a crew that's introduced, they're on a mission, and everything seems normal until some weird stuff happen. Also, I'd recommend not looking at the comments or the contest that the story was made for, because there are some twists and reveals that are best experienced organically. It's a really fun story!

Using a command you can see how much different app thingies are taking to run or whatever, and I don't know how it shows on yours, but on mine, in both colums, 0 means there's no lightspeed, 5 means there's lightspeed but they're not looking specifically at you, and 10 means you're being directly observed.

In 6th grade some kids snuck into the office when the adults where in some meeting thing and almost shut the whole light speed system down except that they got snitched on.

I also do hope he survives, in the same manner that in the case of a fire department burning down, I would be amused by the situation while hoping everyone made it out safely.

EDIT: Iran seems to have instituted a national internet blackout in order to stop videos of the situation from getting out. So there's a strong likelihood that he wasn't killed and merely cannot log in.
