So I've handed out well over 200 750 (at least) points so far in this experiment. Let's keep the ball rolling.

here are many automated ways to get points (duels, storygames, daily points, articles, etc.) but I also try to give points out for other forms of contributions. Currently, I'm trying to give points out for:

Having a comment featured (2 points)
Contributing excellent aid in the advenced editor forum (Variable Points)

But, I'm a busy guy and it's pretty tough to keep track of everything that's happening, so I'm also giving points out for the following:

Recommending a comment for featuring (1 point)
Recommending a user's excellent aid in the last six months for points (1 point)
Recommending a tag change for a storygame (1 point)
Recommending a storygame for movement to a different category (1 point)
Recommending a storygame for a change in maturity level or difficulty level (1 point for each)
Recommending a storygame for featuring (1 point)
Recommending a storygame for unpublishing (1 point)
Recommending a comment for deletion (1 point)

So, in other words, if you go, right now, and find 5 storygames where they haven't properly tagged their storygame (there are literally dozens of these out there), then you'll get 5 points.

The catch: to get points for recommending something, I have to agree with you. If you recommend a story for featuring and I don't feature it, then you don't get the points. This is to prevent people from gaming the system. Don't worry, for most of the above reccomendations, you won't get rejected often if you follow proper procedure.

I believe Cool74 got around 100 points doing this, the last time I did it.

However, you need to follow the correct procedure to get your points!

Reply to THIS thread to THIS post with:
- A link to the storygame
- The comment that you think deserves featuring (copy and paste it)
- The username of the person who wrote the comment (doesn't have to be the exact username, just enough so I understand who it is)
- If there are already 3 featured comments on the storygame, you also have to let me know whose comment you think should be replaced.
- If I agree, you will get 1 point and the person whose comment is featured will get 2 points. If you are reccomending your own comment, then you only get 2 points.

Recommending a comment for deletion:

Reply to THIS thread to THIS post with:
- A link to the storygame
- The comment that you think deserves deletion (copy and paste it)
- The username of the person who wrote the comment (doesn't have to be the exact username, just enough so I understand who it is)

It has to either have spammy punctuation, flame the author, be completely incomprehensible, be a duplicate comment, or not actually be a comment (such as "..." or "poop" or something).

Note: Do not recommend comments on Endmaster's or madglee's games for deletion unless they are spammy or deformed. Basically, Endmaster and madglee like to read their flamers so don't rob them of that.

If you don't follow protocol, either there will be no negative repercussions, you will be ignored, or I'll take your advice and not reward you with points. Following protocol expedites the process for me so I don't have to spend a lot of time making changes.

To summarize: post here (for the most part) with recommendations for who I should reward / what I should change and I'll reward you with points.

Additionally, I'll consider giving more points for users who build up a streak of great suggestions.

That storygame is not very good, but I don't feel that it (quite) warrants deletion. It's got some semblance of choice, more than 1 link per page, not overly broken sentences and it wasn't written maliciously.

the author was clearly lazy and didn't put in any tags, the length should prob be dropped 1 point as all pats add up to long but each individual path isn't too long.

First of all, yeah, to get points, you'll need to tell me which tags you think belong.

Second of all, the length is calculated by a formula, not set by the author.

Don't worry since it's my own game I'll fix it if I even get a chance to get on my laptop, and yup mobile at work doing this lol

Not sure if it counts, but Noodles decided to spam himself a bit in the Starts with a Letter forum game.

How exactly do you decide if a post is worth deleting/mentioning in this thread?

I won't closely moderate junk threads like that one (threads without any real content and a bunch of short posts) but I handled it this time and penalized Noodles.

Honestly, I think all three of these stories should be deleted. Their whole story is less than a paragraph! 

I chose not to unpublish the stormtrooper one because it's actually got some work put into it. I unpublished the other two. If you'd like points for your efforts then please follow the procedure in the OP and don't just copy stuff from Ford's post because it's confusing to read.

Question... Is it reasonable to recommend a game for deletion if you suspect it to have a ridiculous amount of "fake votes."

For instance, there are a lot of recent troll games where the game will be a 1 or 2 in length, any sane person who votes for it would rate it a 1 (or a 2 if they're incredibly generous) and yet the game's got dozens of people rating it an 8 (or far more likely, 1 person rating it an 8 dozens of times.)

Would voting for your own game several times under different names count as trolling and warrant the game's deletion, or should we just ignore it and wait for the votes from intelligent people to knock the troll game back down to a 2? (It personally doesn't bother me that much, but it'd be a quick and fun way to make some extra points.) 

Send me those games via PM! I have some tools to determine what's going on.

I did not delete Silvermoon's/Starshine's comments on his own storygame. I think that there's no way to prevent an author from signing out of his account and commenting so when he forgets to do that, it's best to leave it so we can all laugh.

I deleted Jarjoura's this time, but they're on the edge, I'm tempted to leave one next time. He didn't truly break any site rules with his first one as it was a defense of his story. His second comment truly warranted deletion though.

I left Burdockwest's comments because they don't break any site rules. He's not being rude and he's talking about the storygame. He is kind of dumb for commenting with his own account, but w/e.

I'm getting really OCD about difficulty now. This is only the Fantasy Adventure genre as well. I had to re-read these to have a proper opinion and describe the story xD it sucks reading bad stories over again (they're bad enough to be bad, but good enough to not be unpublished - It's like a silver lining that I can't quite see unless I look a certain direction; and then my eye twitches a bit from the irregularity.)

You're doing God's work, Ford. Thanks for tackling difficulties! I hope other people pick up on this one.

The only one I didn't change was Scarlet Bird. It seems that you want to up the difficulty because it's tough to understand what's going on, but you make it seem like it's linear. If it's linear, you could easily just spam links at the bottom until you get through, so I don't think the difficulty should be high. Do you agree?

It's a minor difficulty change, I may have just chosen the right links to get a more difficult story; so scarlet bird's difficulty doesn't have to change.

Wow. I thought they were exaggerating when they said how short this was, but they totally weren't. But, other than the length, the writing was ok, definitely not the worst I've ever seen, but here's some tips to improve it: 

CHARACTER: Arguably one of the hardest things to get right, you need to make sure that interactions between characters are realistic and interesting, and for that to happen, you need to have a good idea as to what the characters are like. To quote... someone (can't remember who), 'Everyone wants something, even if it's just a glass of water." So what do your characters want? Do they have a particular way of trying to get it? Do they have any good or bad habits? What are they like to strangers compared to what they're like to friends? Are they timid, brave, accepting, judgmental, etc? Plan out each character so they are a fully fleshed out person, even if you don't put all of the things you plan into the story. 

STORY: There are a few things you need to consider here, like Goals, Atmosphere, History, and Branching, so I'll only put some of them here and cover others later. The first thing you need is LENGTH! Instead of making a sequel, try editing this one and making it longer. The next thing is History. Tell us about the kind of world they live in. For example, elaborate on what that pet Jill has is. Describe it, tell us what it eats, what it sounds like, if it can fight, etc. Things like this really help build up the next thing, Atmosphere. You need to describe what's going on, and how other characters are reacting. For example, the fight was thoroughly underwhelming. Try describing the environment, telling us what the attackers look like, and actually describe the fight itself instead of just skipping to after the fight. And lastly, Branching. The options we choose should effect the story, like maybe if you were to not trust Jack, he'd take offense and storm off, so you have to face the attackers by yourself, then try to find Jack afterwards. 

GOALS: Basically, there was none. The first thing you need to do is to give us a long-term goal, for example, escape the forest. Now, along the way add smaller, short-term goals, like defeat the attackers. And when it comes to long-term goals, you don't even need to keep the same goal for the entire adventure. Let's say that you're about to escape the forest when you find out that your pet-thing is sick, and the antidote is in the deepest part of the forest, so you have to decide whether to go back in or escape and let your pet-thing die. Now, that's not to say you should be constantly switching goals. It should go something like this: Set a long-term goal. Achieve some (maybe four or five) short-term goals while you are doing your long-term goal. Then, if you want, make a discovery that gives you a new long-term goal (this can be before or after achieving the first one). That's a pretty basic set-up, because you can have any number of goals at the same time (although try not to make your game cluttered with constantly switching goals, and let your player achieve some before switching to a new one).

Dark stories like this can be really good when written well, but this story really needs more explanation of the situation you're in and how you got there. For instance, if your brother murdered your parents, why aren't the police involved? Especially if your sister knows he did it. Also there were a lot of spelling mistakes, which is why it's always important to proofread your stories before you publish them.

It's sort of frustrating to have to repeat myself :)

Basically, those comments aren't breaking site rules. We can't stop authors from logging out and then posting on their storygames with comments that praise them, so why would we delete the comments when they're logged in?

Sorry, it was just  two posts that appeared to be aimed at misleading players. I know there isn't anything "unlawful" about this. But, filling your comments bar with a bunch of your own comments should be discouraged, right? The comments bar is for other people to leave comments about your game.

Discouraged, definitely. However, authors leave comments on their own storygames all the time, in order to respond to other comments, so it's not a cut and dry rule. Those two comments are dumb but leaving them up allows people to make judgements about the author and I'm okay with that.

When authors post on their stories it just shows what kind of person they are. In which case you give them that "Dude really?" look and keep walking. In the end, posting comments to praise your own story just makes you look stupid, and I personally find joy in reading them.

First question is how many Final fantasy games are there. The answer he gives is 15 but in reality it should be around 78...

Second question is how many movies are there. The answer he gives is 5 but in reality it is 2 movies...

Third question is who were the main characters in FF10. He only lets you pick 3 characters when in reality there was 7 main characters.

Fourth question is how did Final Fantasy get its name. He says that it got its name because the creator made sucky games and this was his "Final Fantasy". This is "Kinda" true. The creator made GOOD games but he couldn't make enough money so he made one last game that turned into one of the most well known RPG's ever made.

Fifth and last question is who are the main characters in FF8. Again he only list 3 people when in reality there where 6 main characters.

Your comment isn't worthy of featuring. While it goes into detail about the specifics of the quiz, the writing level in it could be improved (was/were) and it isn't written in a tone that suggests an objective review. Try to capture the big picture from an objective standpoint, in future reviews.

I didn't agree with the Bloody Story maturity change. The writing wasn't good enough to add the detail necessary to actually picture what was going on, so it's pretty comical and doesn't need to be increased.

- This was a very fascinating story. It reminds me a lot of Hunger Games, only instead it takes place during times of the Romans mixed in with Greek Mythology. The main characters were very believable, the plot had me on the edge of my seat, and the choices involved were some of the deepest yet. I truly felt immersed into the world of Andreas and really felt like I was facing his pain, troubles, and sense of isolation in a new and unfamiliar world. One perfect example of this is the scene when he hugs his mother as the slave owner drags him away. That had me in tears. Lula and Andreas were, by far, the strongest characters in the entire story. That being said, I did have some gripes. For being a story that's rated on Length 7/8, it sure was short. Also, I felt like Rhode's character softened a little too early for me. It would also be nice if we had more backstories on characters like Gerda, Zeru, or even Brausis. I'm not expecting it to all come out at the same time, but to be revealed along the way. Of all the stories I've read on this site so far, I have to say, this one was very well written. I am highly anticipating the next chapter and hope it comes out soon.

- What I love about this story, is how it flawlessly illustrates both the youth gladiators of Rome and how they were treated as slaves from foreign lands as I am constantly reminded that people from all over the world are being packed into these ships and sent off to an unknown land. It paints the image of hopelessness, being trapped, and not knowing if I am even going to make it through the journey. Even making the choice of who gets a piece of bread carries its weight of the uncertainty if this will be my last meal.

The characters all had their own personality to them that just jumps right out of the page simply through the way I can hear them talk. However, some of them still have some room for development since the only ones that I can relate to is my brother and the first girl I meet. This doesn't take away from the story, but it makes me question why I should care about whether or not anybody else but my brother and I live. This includes the instructor, since the interactions that I have with her doesn't give me any incentive to make me care for her. Considering that I haven't known her for too long, it makes me wonder why she already seems to care for me and the others like we're all a family.

Overall, this is a great beginning to a story and I am sure that I'll enjoy the next one just as much if not more. That is why I give The Price of Freedom: Innocence Lost a 7/8.

Hoo, boy, where do I begin? I am a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, but this quiz was unpleasant to play. You need go through and check for spelling mistakes, starting with the title. There are only two proper spellings of it: "Yuugiou" and "Yu-Gi-Oh!" ... also, it would be better if you were specific about -which- Yuugiou. (In this case, "Duel Monsters.")

Inside the actual quiz, though, there are several more errors: your spelling of the word "Egyptian" (a word that all fans and high-school students should be more than capable of spelling) was atrocious. You misspelled a lot of character names, monster names and a few other random words. Your spacing and format need work. You capitalized random words in the middle of sentences, such as "At", "Had", "What", and so on.

The typos and constant fourth wall breaking narration makes this hard to read. The listing of information seems kind of lazy; you could have placed some well written dialogue instead. That would give us the same information without jarring us out of the story.

There are many characters but there's hardly any character development, if any, for most of them. This is, again, mostly due to a distinct lack of dialogue. Since there are so many characters in this story lack of development just leaves them bland and unmemorable.

I can't say I particularly liked the plot. Overthrowing a tyrant as the chosen one is pretty cliche but can still work out well. Some points of the story made me laugh but my favorite were: "theyll give you a log if your the chosen one" and "Its for this reason that she was locked up in a tower ever so high, 65 feet to be exact". The first one speaks for itself but as for the second...65 feet is not high for a tower.

I expect much of the combat choices depended on our stats and could actually have involved horribly complex mechanisms for all I know. What I do know however is that "Slash and chop" hardly makes a difference to me when the other option is "Slash and slash". Even worse it's a life or death decision.

SPOILER ALERT-(I appreciate Arthurian legends as much as the next guy but it just felt tacked on. Uther does have plenty of achievements under his belt as a character of his own. That Mattias becomes king by killing the former despot is pretty far-fetched.)

I do want to end on a positive note though and I will...try anyway. I kind of liked the RPG aspect of this; walking into someone's house to take things is certainly nostalgic. It's also clear, particularly with quite a few updates, that some effort has been put into this.

Either your in school or work, ---- well I'm at university studying for a doctorate, so what does that make me?

You get plus points for having many friends, yet are you the sort of extraverted person who needs! many friends or are you an intravert more happy with your own company?

One question involved whether you've experienced depression, yet the text basically slated you for this, despite the fact you might be recovering, or in a position where your happy with yourself.

While the score system and totting up of possible endings here is quite well done and I do give the author credit, it is pretty obvious this was written by an extremely young person (and not just because the age range basically ended at 30 as though that were close to death), who hasn't had a lot of experience or much knolidge of the nuances of people beyond external happiness.

So, a worthy effort,but one which really needed better writing and psychology to have any point or force at all.

No, no, apparently it totally was erotica.  There's a couple of:

A little sweet in places, but really not enough of it to care much about the ending or indeed the romance, indeed I'm disturbed by the fact that the most described passage was the love making.

That first story is not published. I put splice girls in everything else. I don't really care about the video being there since it's called 'scary surprise' haha. I'm leaving *groan* because the community ruled on that. I would personally delete it. I left Paul's comment because it's not useful but it's not spammy. I did not feature the happiness test comment because the writing wasn't very good at all. I didn't delete the last two comments on Snow. I left the two comments on OMS. Okay, positively excellent ending. I would like to point out that there was a plethora of grammatical errors, and you often spelled the word 'lose' wrong; however, you're Icelandic, so I can't expect you to be perfect in this area. I loved how I had to think about who to use and how, as well as risk vs reward constantly. The characters, especially Masochist and Baryon, really made me appreciate them and how they were much better people than originally thought. I really enjoyed this, and it was quite challenging.

?Excellent, creative story. Very well done. There are a few typos and what not but they didn't detract at all from my immersion. I cannot believe I haven't read this story before now. I very much liked the use of items; at times, I was basically clicking them to determine what you thought was a relevant enhancement, but for the most part there seemed to be a lot of choices on how to proceed by using "abilities." Great use of scripting. Looking forward to reading the sequels.

This was really really awesome! Magnificent improvement from HP1. There were still a few grammatical errors but they weren't at all like the first one and they weren't distracting whatsoever. As a non-native english speaker, you've done some incredible things. There was a gameplay flaw that I noticed. When I was hiding in Techno's closet, I should have been able to use my smelling to determine that they were still in the room. Also, some of the dialogue felt really contrived, particularly between gangsters. All of that being said, I really enjoyed this! Great job!

This story seemed to only have the ending you (the author) wanted. It was either get the guy or be miserable. I'm sure that if you want to you can add more details to the characters and to the plot. The plot was also a little random, one moment your in a movie theater and the next you get shot? Where? Why? It needs some work, but that point could be an amazing and interesting point if you develop it. 

Also,I actually wasn't sure if I should like Luke (the guy) based on some of the 'you'll be alone forever' endings. Him thinking I'm the rude one during the interaction with his classmate? Him ignoring me just because I didn't hold his hand on a first date? Yeah, he gives off a weird vibe. (To me, this part is more personal)

I didn't think Written_Agreement's comment was quite good enough to be featured. There were a, not there was a, and it just felt too clunky to be featurable. It's very close though.

Kiel_Farren's comment doesn't really say enough IMO. It's not a bad comment but it doesn't talk enough about the game as a whole to be featurable.

I'm glad you chose the comments you did though because I'd say my comment is on the very very lowest end of featurable and bookmonkey's is at the very very highest end of not-featurable. The grammatical errors ruin Bookmonkey's otherwise great comment.

Creative story with good writing and an engaging plot. These features went a long way to making the story stand out on the site. I would have liked to see some of my choices affect events more dynamically, such as a character behaving/reacting in a different way depending on wrong or right choices, and some plot twists. However, as it stands, the story is a very enjoyable read with a unique presentation, clever puzzles, and a nice implementation of the advanced editor. An embedded movie near the end was particularly striking. Definitely worth reading. Nice work.0

Awesome! One of my favorite games I've read so far and definitely my favorite mystery/puzzle game on the site. Loved the art, the video and the story. A fun and funny game!
Good: The story is good and there are many choices to choose from. I liked the radio controlled car and disguise tricks!
Bad: Not enough clues given on how or when to use the items.
Ugly: I spent hours trying things: seemed to have gone everywhere and gotten everything even the Loading Dock location, but none of the other items seemed to do anything and I couldn't figure out how to use them. So I settled for the Lame Ending :(

Very nicely written with good descriptions and plot. The variety of choices one has are also excellent. I don't see that it's necessarily linear, because of course you want to move the story forward. Some of the choices, however, could have branched a bit more instead of leading to instant death. Also, I would have liked more of the story! I felt it ended too quickly, right as I was figuring things out. Excellent job, though. Please keep contributing.

Believe it or not, I beat it without the walk through. I feel so proud :)
The major problem is that we honestly don't have reasons to use items in certain rooms. it was annoying going everywhere and trying to use the scepter. We also never go to use the laser rifle, which I really wanted to use haha.
I rated it a 6/8 though the author rated it 8 so many times makes me want to give it a 1 to be honest.
Still, good game, nice puzzle, even if it was incoherent. (At least I thought so)

What's with your choice of weapons? "knocks you out cold with a throwing star."? How are you even suggesting that's possible? (And for the record, it IS possible, but using a throwing star in the normal way? Would traditionally either kill you flat out or just leave you with an extremely mild wound if it hit. And no. Pressure points are not the answer for blades.)

It'd make sense if he just hit a pressure point with a martial arts move. Or a blunt weapon. A careful hit in the right spot with a bokken, maybe. (I say "careful" because its primary ability is to break bones.)

The other part I don't get... one of the ninjas kills you casually with... a gun? Wtf? >_> Using a gun, especially when it's unnecessary, kind of removes what's cool about a ninja in the first place. (And unless you're just trying to be random, they worship cows in INDIA, not Japan. -.-')

I didn't feel that Briar's, Tanstaafl's or Betaband's, Mistman's comments were feature-worthy due to being sort-of weak on content and/or a little clumsy sounding. I also didn't feel that Magcos' comment was featury-worthy because that style of review doesn't flow very well.  I'm really on the fence about madglee's second comment, I featured it but it's in the lower range of featurable comments. I also didn't feature your comment, mostly because it doesn't actually paint broad strokes. Comments need to talk about the game as a whole and not just specific instances, in order to get featured.

When looking for featured comments, you need to increase your standards/stringency a little bit.

Okay, okay... Where do I start? ... Firstly, if you see a man talking to the manager about losing his wallet, why not just give the wallet to the man instead of the manager? It's well written and makes good points, but it solely focuses on specific problems with the story and doesn't actually review the story as a whole.

?A little clumsy in application, but really not all that bad. I like the feel of 'pacing back and forth' as the dog - sort of waiting for things to happen. Though there probably needs to be a bit more description or explanation or even options (like dig a hole or something) during those times, so that the reader doesn't feel like he's not getting anywhere or is wondering if the game is broken.

Nice little puzzle game you have here - I liked it :) 

I think you could boost its Ratability though, by giving more information (a paragraph or so more) with each location and interaction with the Items. 

Also, maybe add more interaction with the shooter than just random Left/Right Die/Live. Perhaps have a 'Beg For Your Life Choice at least or a clue as to why going in one direction over the other would be bad or good. 

Finally, After the Shooter, I went back into the SS Room, even though I thought that encounter occurred in the Science room or hall coming out of it.

The game is pretty short depending on which path is chosen. The whole "someone was murdered in this house" thing is all a bit cliche, there's not much of a twist or new spin on the concept. There were a few grammatical errors here and there, and a few little hiccups in the fluency ("Caleb screamed in horror and sadness"--how does one scream of sadness?).

It might be helpful to slow down a bit on the first page too so that the reader isn't thrown into the story too soon. Overall, this story is like its rating: not the best, but certainly not the worst.

I have not read many stories on this site, so I cannot really compare this to anything else.
However, I was asked to read and comment, and so I shall.
I see that many others have rated this highly, with enthusiastic praise, and I am sorry, but I am unable to give such a glowing recommendation.
The writing is very sloppy, with many spelling mistakes and little care for grammar or sentence structure.
There seems to be an attempt on your part to use a large, complex vocabulary, however "vestigeal" is not a word, and if you meant "vestigial" then you have used it incorrectly.
I do not find the story particularly original or unique, but you do seem to have made an effort.
Are you a child? In that case, I would give you high marks for the attempt.
Overall, it is the writing of someone who has been told by others that they possess skill, but not someone who has consistently honed their craf

There's some serious potential here! The plot is definitely better than your last game, and the pathes are nice and non-linear. However, your storytelling (including spelling and grammar) could use some serious work. My advice would be to spend a little bit more time working on those aspects. I can tell, due to the extremely short timespan between each one being made, that you must be rushing to churn these games out. Perhaps you could have someone read your next one(s) over and help correct mistakes?

Again, a pretty good game, but there's still a rather large amount of room for improvement.

What I love about this story, is how it flawlessly illustrates both the youth gladiators of Rome and how they were treated as slaves from foreign lands as I am constantly reminded that people from all over the world are being packed into these ships and sent off to an unknown land. It paints the image of hopelessness, being trapped, and not knowing if I am even going to make it through the journey. Even making the choice of who gets a piece of bread carries its weight of the uncertainty if this will be my last meal.

The characters all had their own personality to them that just jumps right out of the page simply through the way I can hear them talk. However, some of them still have some room for development since the only ones that I can relate to is my brother and the first girl I meet. This doesn't take away from the story, but it makes me question why I should care about whether or not anybody else but my brother and I live. This includes the instructor, since the interactions that I have with her doesn't give me any incentive to make me care for her. Considering that I haven't known her for too long, it makes me wonder why she already seems to care for me and the others like we're all a family.

Overall, this is a great beginning to a story and I am sure that I'll enjoy the next one just as much if not more. That is why I give The Price of Freedom: Innocence Lost a 7/8.

Hmm... Reading the game again, I think it probably does meet some of the minimum site standards, but I remember the spelling and grammar being a lot worse the first time I read it. Unsure what exactly it violates, and you really have to see it to understand why it should be deleted, but... The game is hard to read. Odd 'preferences' make the page longer than they should be with no text in between. It's really odd. The game is pointless and annoying.

I'd say that storygame meets all of these standards:

• Grammar and style poor enough that it cannot be ignored
• A plot which is poor or nonexistent
• Poor pacing (usually characterized by frequent and unpredictable end game links)
• A lack of important decisions
• Unbelievable or overly cliched dialogue (if dialogue is present in the story)

So I deleted it. Agreed on the comment too.

Here are a few comments I noticed while playing. I feel that these deserve featuring because of the quality of advice they offer to the author. I know featuring comments isn't your top priority, but I feel these guys deserve recognition.

This could actually be a decent little story, if you'd bothered to proofread it. Terrible spelling, grammar, run-on sentences, and other issues make it difficult to read.
The background could use more explanation as well. There's a lot of totally interchangeable, ill-defined characters (who all seem to have names ending in "y") who all (I guess?) know each other, and suddenly start narrating the backstory to one another. It feels like you, the author, know what this story is about- but you didn't do a very good job explaining it to the reader.
The overall impression I get is that you were in a tremendous rush to write and publish this as quickly as possible.

If you see a sim game with a sandbox concept and unique variables, you know it's good. This is basically a fun and unique vacation/work sim that you can spend endless hours playing. The storygame is very non-linear, which gives more freedom to the player, but a little more linearity would perfect it. The storyline flowed nicely and I like it how you could sometimes make big choice (Rebels or Governor) and how useless things seem useful (Like, Nigel, he's funny). The only big problem is the bugs that might need a little bit of editing to get rid of it. But no complaints here, all storygames as diverse and complex as MyVacation have bugs! Thumbs up and great game, I can't wait for the sequel.

Ha! This game is hilarious, it's unfortunate that it's incomplete, I actually had a pretty good laugh reading through this (the scene with the zombie and the wrench had me cracking up like a goddamn fool). 

As a parody of the zombie genre and a humorous little story, this is perfect, and I sincerely hope that was your intention while making this. 

Otherwise... well, I think you should probably brush up on your storytelling. As a serious story, this would fall short on rather many levels (For one, the scene that had me cracking up - the zombie violating himself, then you, and then you violating him, all with a wrench, is - while hilarious - hardly something you should include if you want a story to be in any way realistic, touching or even mildly respectable). 

You also seem to be following the traditional zombie path (You wake up, zombies happened, then you find a military camp). Don't, I cannot emphasize enough how much this has been done to death, it's the exact same story for every zombie telling and it gets old quick. I know it may be difficult to think of some more original progression, but that's the challenge to any overworked genre, and those rare works that take the less-travelled path will often get rewarded for it; if their author is good enough that is. 

Your pages are too short, and you have a few loops. Fix those, haha; try and give the reader a sense of what's happening around him, don't let them just think of everything as a sequence of actions, you have to try and make them feel like there is some real progression here, not like they're just some guy screwing around in an apocalyptic world. 

All of that being said, I personally much prefer this game as a parody, you've done an excellent job of making me laugh and I value that more than the traditional zombie story. 

As a storygame? This will get a 3/8 from me, i'm sorry to say; even if I enjoyed it, it is incomplete, short and has loops. Fix those and it'll definitely bring my rating up,

It's a shame. Having a game with a time machine that you can keep using to go back and fix things that went wrong that day is a really clever idea. Unfortunately the game just wasn't well written. Most of what was going on didn't make any sense and it had some story development that could've been very interesting if it was explained correctly. For instance, the rich man pretending to be a bum was interesting, but the game never properly explains why he was pretending to be a bum. Also, the inventor of the time machine deciding to kill himself because of his mistake was interesting, but you never explained what happened to make the man decide that inventing the time machine was a mistake.

One of the main issues with this particular game is that there doesn't seem to be a real goal here other than for your character to have a good time, which ... isn't exactly a bad goal, but you have to make the experience more interesting than just "you and your friends did this activity, so-and-so giggled, it was fun."

This game presents no challenge, no consequences, and honestly, no real choices, because there is literally no way to lose and no other outcome your character can have other than to have a good time. I mean, I can get there, then go straight to sleep, and it doesn't effect the ending. The story just insists I had fun, regardless of what I do. That's why it falls flat as a game, the player doesn't feel like they've really accomplished anything or like their choices even really matter.

Since the game is incredibly light on text, tone, content, and general length, I believe it was written either by a young writer or for very young players. So, yes, it's decent for what it is, in spite of me not enjoying it. There's nothing in here that's bad for kids.

(However, if you're trying to make it for the youth of today, why are you having them play boardgames? My sisters only play boardgames with our parents. Why not video games? Why not a wii / xbox dance party game, jamming out to ... whoever it is tween girls idolize these days?)

Truth be told, just because something is for kids does not mean it needs to be light, or short, or all smiles and rainbows-- Disney is an example of a company knows how to be interesting, even a little dark, while keeping both their kid and adult appeal. Maybe you should study up on more successful writers and try again.

Aww, I was hoping we'd be able to 'change' history in the game rather than being forced to play it out as it was.

Nonetheless, this was a very informational piece (to the point that it should probably go to Edutainment!). It was interesting and was a good, but brief summary of the Civil War's major battles.

As noted above, this could've been a really, fantastic Storygame if we were able to really change how the Civil War was played out, as well as see the consequences of our actions if the Confederacy ended up winning, or we couldn't bring the Union together.
As it is now, however, it can only serve as an informatory essay about the American Civil War. 5/8

Explanation: He appears to be judging the game on his opinion of the game's subject, not on the game itself or how it adhere's to its subject. The game was about the standards of godliness, according to the book James 2, yet the commentor assumes that it was an attack on his beliefs and begins to make a series of inflammatory comments regarding the subject of the game. Again, the comments wouldn't be bad if they were actually referring to the game and not the bible itself.

This is far from historical (lol) and nor is it an RPG.

 

I changed the difficulty to 6, not 8. It's not easy to get through that storygame, but it's just a matter of clicking the right links until they let you through. Check out Jurrasic Fairview Park for an example of an 8 difficulty. In that storygame, you could click randomly for years and never finish.

Warrior Cats again? Okay...where do I begin. First, your grammar is not good. It's not so awful that I get upset by reading, but it is below average. When you are describing a scene, this includes characters, don't put everything within parenthesis and don't apologize to the reader while we are reading the story because it completely breaks any immersion.

The choices you present at the beginning doesn't even add to the story, it isn't even talked about past the first page. The story itself was rushed. Many things in this story seem to be just thrown at me simply for the sake of it being there. As I continue to read, it seems like you were thinking that since you're almost done you shouldn't try as much. Never a good thing. If you were so keen on making the "romances", and I use that term loosely, gender specific, why didn't you just make a gender choice at the beginning of the story. I could literally be a male on one page and a female on the other.

Anyway, I can't bring myself to give this a 1/8 because it does appear to have some effort, though minimal, put into it. So with that, I give this story a 2/8.

This is based of of the "Warriors" books.

In terms of content, Danaos' comment is actually unbelievably good. However, it's completely fraught with grammatical errors. In that second paragraph, he mixes up the proper pluralization too many times for it to be featured.

- It has a 1 rating and a 1 length, deletable by minimum site standards (it hasn't been a week yet, but it is very, very unlikely that the author will ever get a rating any higher than a 2, and I believe the other standards will suffice to delete it).

- It is literally just you eating a cookie. It starts off asking if you want to eat a cookie. Your only answer is sure. You can choose to wait a few hours while the cookie goes stale (who cares, it's a cookie?) or you can eat it right away and enter an infinite cookie eating loop, with the option to stop eating cookies and end the game. 

I wanted to do that but it hasn't been a week yet.

You don't need to wait a week, we made the other four standards for those who made their way around a loophole or two.

(Or did we need to fit all 4 of those? I'm prepared to argue that it has a pornographic theme, all of that cookie eating, clearly food porn,)

I deleted the storygame, but you didn't list a legitimate reason for it to be deleted, so I can't award you the point.

Bah, i'm fairly sure "Blatant lack of plot" and "Linearity" was heavily implied by my second paragraph.

The storygame has all of the following characteristics:

• Grammar and style poor enough that it cannot be ignored
• A plot which is poor or nonexistent
• Poor pacing (usually characterized by frequent and unpredictable end game links)
• A lack of important decisions
• Unbelievable or overly cliched dialogue (if dialogue is present in the story)

While it did, you didn't say that. You never mentioned his grammar, or the pacing.

That's because the grammar was standard - at least, the same quality as most other storygames here (and it was short enough that it would have been really hard to screw up the grammar anyway).

Pacing pretty much tied in with the description of the game, haha. 

Am I supposed to just copy-paste that list every time I think a storygame here should be deleted? I was of the mind that you'd simply infer from the description whether or not it matched the criteria yourself.

Make sure you copy+paste the correct part of the minimum site standards that it doesn't meet. What I'm looking for is an explanation of which part of the minimum site standards it fails to meet. The reason you aren't getting points is that you didn't specify which part of the minimum site standards the storygame failed to meet.
